A reversible lambswool throw crafted in an intricate interlocking pattern which was designed in the 1950's in collaboration with the Welsh Rural Industries Board to strengthen the rural economy. The design is woven as a traditional Welsh doublecloth which is known as "tapestry cloth" in Wales. Doublecloths are two layers of fabric which are woven one above the other, and interchange at points which allows for bold patterning to be imagined on both sides of the fabric. Doublecloths are admired for their union of beauty and utility, and make for wonderful bedcovers and hearty throws. Woven by Melin Tregwynt, a historic Welsh mill which has been operating in the same location since the 17th century, and since 1912, has been in the same family for three generations. Melin Tregwynt is dedicated to keeping the tradition of wool and Welsh weaving alive. This reversible throw is sure to impart warmth and comfort for many years to come. Made from 100% pure lambswool which is cherished for its light coziness. Finished with a simple hem so either side can be enjoyed. Handmade in Wales.
