5g BCAAs, unflavored and easy to mix, solid amino support around workouts.

Metabolic Nutrition BCAA Unflavored Powder keeps it simple with one goal: give you 5 grams of branched-chain amino acids per scoop, no caffeine, no flavors messing with your stacks, and no extras pulling focus from what BCAAs do best for recovery and training. That's why people like it—it's not trying to be a pre-workout, hydration drink, or full recovery mix. It's straight-up BCAA powder for when you need amino help before, during, or between sessions.

The main players are the big three BCAAs: leucine, isoleucine, and valine. The label shows 5,000 mg total BCAAs, but doesn't break down the exact ratio. That's key because leucine is the star for starting muscle growth. Leucine flips on the mTOR pathway—that's the signal inside cells that gets muscles repairing and building. Studies often use 2.5-5g of leucine for that muscle boost. If this follows the usual 2:1:1 split, you'd get about 2.5g leucine, 1.25g isoleucine, and 1.25g valine in a 5g serving, which hits the lower end of what works. But since the ratio isn't listed, that's the one downside on transparency.

Isoleucine steps up differently. It helps muscles pull in glucose for energy, and it can do this without relying fully on insulin. In real life, that means better fuel during workouts, pairing nicely with leucine's repair work. Valine finishes it off by blocking tryptophan from crossing into the brain via the LAT1 transporter. That helps cut down on feeling wiped out mentally during long grinds.

Key Highlights

  • 5,000 mg total BCAAs per scoop is a real dose for before, during, or between workouts. In the BCAA world, 5g is the go-to for support without needing a whole protein shake.
  • Leucine is the main player in BCAAs because it kicks off the mTOR pathway to start muscle building. That's why leucine amount counts, and even without the exact ratio, the full 5g dose points in the right direction.
  • Isoleucine does its own thing: it boosts how muscles take in glucose for fuel during exercise. So BCAAs aren't just for recovery—they help keep you going strong in the moment.
  • Valine fights central fatigue by battling tryptophan for brain access. That's a big reason BCAAs shine in long workouts, like endurance runs or heavy lifting days.
  • Unflavored powder is a smart choice—it lets you add it to creatine, electrolytes, pre-workout, carbs, or protein without ruining the flavor of your mix.
  • No stimulants means you can use it anytime—morning, afternoon, or night—without messing with your sleep. Way more flexible than products loaded with caffeine that lock in your timing.
  • No prop blends here—the active part is straight-up 5g BCAAs per serving. That's better than stuff that hides doses behind fancy labels.
  • Keeps things minimal to avoid gut issues compared to big all-in-one drinks. Perfect for fasted sessions, cuts, or when your stack is already solid.

Who Is This For?

  • Bodybuilders in big volume phases wanting easy intra aminos without sweets or stims. 5g BCAAs deliver leucine for growth signals, plus isoleucine and valine for output and fatigue in pump-heavy days.
  • AM lifters hitting it before breakfast who need lighter than a shake. Simple BCAAs make fasted workouts feel less breaking-down and easier to power through, especially without pre-gym food.
  • Cutters holding onto muscle while calories drop and training stays intense. BCAAs help here—leucine keeps the build signal going, valine and isoleucine boost capacity when energy's low.
  • Endurance folks in long runs wanting fatigue help without stims. Valine's tryptophan block is why BCAAs fit for drawn-out training.
  • Strength guys with creatine and protein set, adding simple aminos. Unflavored mixes easy into water, electrolytes, or pre without flavor chaos.
  • Fighters and weight-class athletes needing flexible nutrition in cuts. BCAAs give low-key support for sessions when food's cut back and timing or gut gets tricky.

How to Use

Stir 1 scoop into 8-16 oz water—go concentrated or watered down as you like. Take it 15-30 minutes pre or sip during; both work since BCAAs help most when they're in your system for the session and meals are off. Stim-free means no buildup worries, no half-scoop start. Fasted training? Pre or intra is prime. If you ate protein 60-90 minutes before, it's less urgent but good for long hauls. Stack with creatine, electrolytes, or carbs based on your workout; follow with full protein for recovery. Food doesn't block it, but it stands out when eating's delayed. Keep it sealed in a cool, dry spot to avoid clumps from moisture.

What to Expect

Minutes 0-10: mixes quick into water or your drink, no stim kick, no gut weight. Minutes 10-30: no huge feel, since BCAAs aren't like caffeine or pump stuff—it's about function over flash. In the session, especially fasted or long, you get smoother flow and less fade. Minutes 40-90: valine and isoleucine step up for fatigue and energy, key in endurance or volume work. Days 1-7: consistency shines in hitting amino windows when meals lag. Weeks 2-4: it becomes habit—better sticking to training, support in cuts or fasted days, fewer under-fueled sessions from bad timing.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many BCAAs are in each serving of Metabolic Nutrition BCAA Unflavored?

Each serving provides 5,000 mg of total branched-chain amino acids. The label confirms leucine, isoleucine, and valine as the active aminos, but the exact ratio of the three is not disclosed.

Is the leucine:isoleucine:valine ratio listed on the label?

No. The product discloses 5 g total BCAAs per serving, but it does not list the individual amounts of leucine, isoleucine, and valine. That is the main transparency limitation of the formula.

When should I take this BCAA powder?

The best use cases are 15-30 minutes before training, during training, or between meals when complete protein intake will be delayed. It is especially useful for fasted workouts, cutting phases, and long sessions where you want amino support without drinking a full shake.

Can I stack Metabolic Nutrition BCAA Unflavored with creatine?

Yes. This is one of the best ways to use it because the unflavored format blends easily with creatine monohydrate. The two serve different purposes: BCAAs support around-workout muscle metabolism, while creatine supports phosphocreatine regeneration and high-intensity performance.

Does this product contain caffeine or stimulants?

No. This is a stim-free amino product, so it can be used in the evening or alongside a separate pre-workout without adding extra caffeine.

Is this a replacement for whey protein or EAAs?

No. BCAAs provide three essential amino acids, but full muscle protein synthesis still depends on access to all essential amino acids. This product works best as a supplement to adequate protein intake, not a substitute for it.

Who benefits most from a simple BCAA formula like this?

The best fits are fasted trainers, athletes in calorie deficits, endurance athletes, and lifters who want a light intra-workout option. It is also useful for anyone who wants unflavored amino support that can be added to other products without altering taste.

Can I use this on rest days?

Yes, but the highest-value use is usually around workouts or between meals when protein timing is suboptimal. On rest days, it can still be used if meal spacing is long, though complete protein remains the more comprehensive nutritional priority.

What other ingredients are in the unflavored version?

The available information indicates silicon dioxide as an inactive ingredient used to support powder flow and prevent clumping. The formula appears very simple beyond the 5 g BCAA active blend.

Is this good for beginners?

Yes, because it is simple and stimulant-free. The main thing beginners should know is that BCAAs are a support product, not a replacement for hitting daily protein targets from food or protein powder.

Fallen Angels, fae, vampires, oh my!
Format: Kindle
Rating: 4.5 | Spice: 2 (but a good slow-burn) • Main Characters: Huntyr and Wolf • I couldn’t wait to read this book; there was so much hype about it! And there was no doubt why. I fell in love with the characters and the plot itself. This book is mainly plot driven more than friction driven but it’s easy to follow along with. The characters are fun, easily understood. The main setting is at an academy where both the main characters are going through trials and building strength for the final test, The Transcendent. There are fantastic side characters as well. I loved the camaraderie between Huntyr and her friends. But we don’t like Lanson. 😆 We do have some plot twists that come into play throughout the book. Secrets and betrayal to be seen. I did adore Wolf and Huntyr’s relationship. It was a classic slow burn trope. They didn’t hit it off fast, but in time their feelings grew. I loved their banter, so sexy. Wolf is your next book boyfriend; Huntyr is your next vampire assassin independent bad-a*s female. Themes include loyalty, trust, self-discovery, a true slow burn romance. Side note: book ends on a angsty cliffhanger! • Emily, thank you for writing this awesome novel and I cannot wait to devour Book 2, Blood So Brutal! 😍 • Happy reading, my lovelies! xo

“My heart bows to you and you only, Huntress.”
Format: Kindle
3.5 🌟 This book popped up in my KU recommended reading suggestions and the synopsis sounded like what I was in the mood for. I'm so glad I took a chance on it. I went into this knowing absolutely nothing about it and ended up really liking it. I love when this happens. The main characters are likeable and I easily found myself rooting for them. There is a mystery element to each of their backstories that I enjoyed watching unfold and can't wait to get more of. Wolf, in particular, has me fixated. Love him. I found this to be an entertaining, addictive read with a plot that moves along at a good pace. It reads so easily I found myself very reluctant to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and the angst is there. A good set up for the next book to come, for sure. My issues with this book....the dialogue feels a bit juvenile at times and there is a repetitive over use of a particular word phrasing that I found myself giving the ole eye-roll to. There are, without a doubt, some pretty cliche moments that gave me a bit of the cringe. I think this could've certainly 100% benefited from more depth regarding the world building. Perhaps the world building was sacrificed to keep the pacing quick? Just a guess. Also, the lack of consistency of character for the FMC was really evident and so she feels quite illogical at times. Overall, this was a fun and enjoyable read that hit the spot well enough for me. That ending certainly has me impatiently pining for book 2!

Interesting take on the genre
Format: Kindle
True rating: 3.25 ⭐️ I enjoyed the fresh take on the genre. The best way I could describe the setting and world is an apocalyptic dystopian version of Farie where vampires, fae, and angles struggle to survive in what is left of the world. It was definitely interesting throwing the academy/hunger games aspect into this world as well. Even though I guessed the final reveal early on in the book, I kept hoping I was wrong, and it would take a surprising turn. While the "plot twists" were a bit predictable to me, I still enjoyed the ride this book took me on. Another downfall for me was the plot holes in the world building... I.E. if society has fallen and the world is in the aftermath of war, how are there trains running around the world? Just to take young adults to the trials to get into the golden city? How is the train maintained, the tracks clear, etc? However, I did enjoy the FMC & MMC and thought they were fleshed out nicely. I also enjoyed the side characters but wish some were developed more like Ashalin (sp?). I do find myself rooting for the MCs to succeed and find happiness together, which is obviously an important aspect for romantasy. Overall, was this an earth-shattering, mind-bending, terrific piece of literature? No. But was it the worst thing I've read this year? Also, no. This book has, to me, the bones of a great read & just needs a bit more to push it from an alright book to a great book. Overall ratings: Plot- 3.5⭐️ World building 3⭐️ Spice 2.5 🌶🌶 Main characters 4 ⭐️ Supporting characters 3.5⭐️

great book
Format: Kindle
I am really excited to meet the author at the book retreat this month. I really enjoyed this world that she built and most of the female main character Huntress is so awesome. She goes through a lot in this book and the ending; wow! I wouldn't have even guessed. I highly recommend everyone to read this book. I have been so lucky this year that almost all the books I have read have been, so far, 5 out 5 stars.

Fallen for the Fallen Angel – A Guilty Pleasure Worth Every Page
Format: Kindle
There’s something deeply irresistible about a dark academia or trial-based setting, a brooding and arrogant fallen angel, and a fierce heroine with enough sass to go toe-to-toe with him. Wings So Wicked is exactly that kind of book—and I devoured it in just a couple of days. To be fair, the plot isn’t groundbreaking. If you’re looking for something fresh and innovative in terms of storyline, this might not be it. But if your reader heart beats faster at the mere mention of enemies-to-lovers, jealousy-fueled banter, magical trials, betrayals, and forbidden tension—you’ll feel right at home. It’s like catnip for those of us with this particular weakness. The chemistry between the leads could have used a slightly slower burn to make the tension sizzle longer, but I still found myself completely invested in their dynamic. There are moments and phrases that feel a bit cheesy or underdeveloped, but honestly? I didn’t care. The vibes were exactly what I wanted. This book isn’t trying to reinvent the genre—it’s here to give readers like me what we crave: high-stakes magical drama, angsty romance, and the thrill of watching a badass girl and her brooding counterpart clash and spark. If that sounds like your kind of story, Wings So Wicked will hit the mark. Here’s hoping Book 2 turns up the heat and keeps the magic alive.
