Radiance Pro™4k60 Video Processor

See What the Director Intended ™

The Radiance Pro™ series supports 4k60 inputs, and outputs, including HDCP 2.3, HDR10, and HLG, and is compatible with Dolby® LLDV™ sources. Winner of a Home Cinema Choice™ Best of 2021 award, and a Best Video Product award in Australia in 2021, the Radiance Pro is not standing still. Lumagen is adding to its 22-year legacy of video processor development by continuing to enhance features and algorithms, and adding a single-input, single-output model for those who would like to place the Radiance Pro after the AV switching.

The Radiance Pro series of video processors offers up to ten inputs, four outputs, and a multitude of video processing, setup, and calibration features. Much more than an HDMI switcher, the Radiance Pro has a host of features to improve the image on your screen. It is considered by many experts to be an essential part of any quality home cinema.

Optimizing HDR content has perhaps become the most important video processing feature. The Radiance Pro Dynamic Tone Mapping (DTM) analyzes multiple regions of every frame of content, detects scene changes, and optimizes the image for each frame of content. Jon Thompson, a movie producer who is responsible for post-production image quality at a major studio, recently evaluated the Radiance Pro DTM versus the other options. He said that “the other DTM options are not even in the same league as the Radiance Pro.”

Scaling quality again comes to the forefront with the 4k projectors and televisions. It should be intuitively obvious that home cinema scaling must be evaluated at viewing distance using actual moving image video content. The Tektronix PQA600C quantitative image analysis program is used by major studios and broadcast networks and includes 30 years of development by perception physicists. It includes viewing distance in its evaluation of scaling. The Radiance Pro has the industry’s best motion picture scaling and scores more than 20% higher than the competition using the Tektronix analysis software. Lumagen’s scaling provides the best quality scaling for 1080, 720, and SD, sources for 4k projectors and TVs. Scaling is also essential for aspect-ratio control, especially when using an anamorphic lens. In addition, the Radiance Pro has an edge-sharpening feature that helps restore detail lost during compression of the digital content.

Minimizing signal jitter is an extremely important criteria for HDMI. The Radiance Pro 5XXX series HDMI output clock jitter has been measured at about 10 pS. This is an ideal clock to send to the audio processor to minimize jitter at the DACs. Reduced jitter at the DAC reduces distortion. Lumagen has many reports of the 5XXX significantly improving audio due to this ultra-low jitter HDMI output.

Reference quality colorimetry is often overlooked as part of a high-end home theater. The Radiance Pro can provide automated video equalization, using third party calibration software, with more accuracy than calibration without a 3D LUT. Using the Radiance Pro’s DTM, and Color Management System, you can See what the director intended™.

Other features include image-based instant-auto-aspect detection and selection for HD, 3D, and 4k UHD and HDR sources. Anamorphic support with, or without, an anamorphic lens. Image based auto-aspect selection, plus precise geometry adjustments including size, and masking, are available. The Radiance Pro’s Non-Linear-Stretch (NLS) feature allows the user to stretch 16:9 content to fill an anamorphic screen using their preferred settings. For 16:9 screens and TVs, an anamorphic image can be placed anywhere in the active screen area, or with zoom, and/or cropping, can fill a larger portion of the screen. Multiple configuration memories allow for different independent configurations, such as day, night, sports, and black-and-white.

The adaptability of the Radiance Pro is second to none. Using Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technology, the Radiance Pro can add hardware image processing and setup features long after installation. The Radiance Pro is adding new features over time. One example is HDR Dynamic Tone Mapping was added four years after product introduction and is available to all Radiance Pro owners by simply updating to the latest free release.

"Reference status picture processing with a wealth of controls and futureproofing potential. Worth the outlay for high-end systems, but installation isn't for the AV novice.:

A starry second chance romance that’s not to be missed.
Format: Kindle
I’ll admit I was super excited to read this and at the same time apprehensive too because I absolutely loved “Written in the Stars” and didn’t want to set it up on a pedestal of unfair expectations. Not sure I was completely successful on that front ☺️. So Margot’s story is a second chance romance with Olivia, her high school best friend who ended up marrying the quarterback jock. 11 years later they meet and interesting things happen. Margot is one of those caustic but heart of gold characters that I’ve adored from book one. I loved there was more of that in this book and it was a nice juxtaposition to Olivia’s character that’s basically kindness and generosity personified. Bellefleur’s writing definitely does the word “rom-com” justice, as the story is packed with plenty of pining and humor. That cat scene being the most memorable of the lot. I also loved the pacing of this book. Second chance romances often tend to yank readers back and forth between timelines, causing reading-whiplash. But in this book, there’s none of that and the story progresses with enough background to keep you engaged and focused. That brings me to communication tropes. Love-‘em or hate-‘em they are the backbone of angst inducement. This book felt like one ginormous communication trope. Ironically, Margot’s character actually bemoans how she hates it when characters don’t communicate, which I thought was quite tongue and cheek by Bellefleur given how this book flowed. There’s lots of sexy scenes in this book and while I loved reading them, it also felt like that’s all that was happening. Margot and Olivia weren’t really talking until the very end. So even though I liked the pacing for the majority of the book, the end was like a train hurtling down the track sans brakes. So much was happening, threads being closed with a grand gesture looming, my heart was racing and I even started reading faster which didn’t help my feeling, that it was rushing to the end. The epilogue was great and I really loved getting glimpses of Elle and Darcy throughout this book. Overall while it may not have the tingly charm of “Written in the stars”, it is a great read that closes out the series nicely.

Very good book!
Format: Kindle
I really enjoyed reading “Count my lucky stars”. It was a great sapphic romance - sweet, funny and entertaining. It was the last book in the series and it summed up all the three couples from the series perfectly. I really liked Margot and just the way she is and also I felt for Olivia because I am similar - I usually put other needs above my own. They were just great together - they balanced each other out. Very good read.

Great conclusion to this series!
Format: Paperback
Margot is sure that long-term relationships just aren't for her. Been there. Blew through the tissue box. Wrote the novel. Done that. All her friends found their life mate, and that makes social gatherings a bit awkward now, but it's fine, really. Even the wedding planning she's invited along to with her friends, that's cool. Well, it was, until Olivia, her long lost childhood friend, happens to be a wedding planner they run into. Margot and Olivia's first relationship didn't go so well, and Olivia has since been married and divorced. Margot thinks Olivia is still as much a beautiful goddess as ever, and opportunity knocks when Olivia is stranded with nowhere to go. Margot is happy to offer up a spare room, but even though she and Olivia are getting along swimmingly, and sparks are flying between them, is Olivia what she really wants? When their first voyage into the unknown was capsized, are they fated to be lost at sea once more, or will the stars guide them to a brighter future than they could ever have hoped for? I've followed the stars all the way to the end of the Written in the Stars trilogy, and what have I found? A trio of excellent stories about love, friendship, hardship, communication, and the self. Margot and Olivia make a fun and interesting second chance pairing, with Margot being the prickly pear, and Olivia being really sweet. Margot is rough around the edges partially because she has a difficult time trusting, which I understand, and that along with other factors compounds into miscommunication along the way. While this story can be read as a standalone, I think that readers who've partaken of the first two entries will have plenty to enjoy, with Brendon, Elle, and other favorites returning for their part in Margot and Olivia's story. Margot and Olivia have the opportunity for a second chance, but giving somebody you used to love a second chance is difficult, no? Margot asks a lot of Olivia, and I understand why, but in the end, love is all about taking that uncertain leap in hopes of landing together on your feet. Their intimate scenes are rather spicy, so don't expect anything closed door about their romance. Count Your Lucky Stars is the story of two girls who fell out of love doing their best to find each other again, and I'm counting my own lucky stars for having the pleasure of enjoying this story and these characters across an entire trilogy. Recommended for readers who believe in second chances, enjoy romance between disparate personalities, enjoy sapphic romance, and fans of this friend group's previous two stories, which I also recommend.
