This book does a really good job of capturing the experience of fleeing a wildfire without being unnecessarily gruesome or morbid. The back has a timeline and facts about the fire as well as suggestions for coping if you’re in the same predicament. I think many kids will enjoy the sense of adventure and fast pace of the book. He takes his promise to his parents to protect his sister even when she becomes annoying. This is fast paced, on the seat of your chair action from the very beginning. For those who are fans of the “I Survived “ series by Lauren Tarshis, I guarantee that you will enjoy this series. I highly recommend this to all adventure readers.
