Lalland is spun from 100% Scottish Lambswool. This signature yarn is created with a firm twist, to give wonderful stitch definition with a lovely vintage look.

The proprietary double twist is made by plying 2 x 2 threads separately and then twisting them together to give a crinkle to the wool. This means stockinette is rendered flatly and smoothly, while texture jumps out of the fabric.

Lalland is spun in Scotland in a cashmere mill. The mill equipment requires that the fiber have the same micron count as cashmere, which explains this yarn's incredible next-to-skin softness. It does not pill and wears really well.

Di Gilpin is a truly unique yarn company because they not only produce yarn but are “croft to couture”. They employ 90 highly-skilled home-knitters based across Scotland. They have a core team, who live within a 15-mile radius, to create the one-off pieces and special commissions desired by private clients, fashion designers and the catwalk.
