As soon as you start taking it offroad or beating the snot out of it, it's short-comings start to become apparent. This is even more obvious if you have started experiencing death wobble. Apex Chassis has come up with a solution that replaces the factory ball joint on the track bar with a beefier, more heavy duty unit. It will give you a tighter feel, giving you a more direct connection from the steering wheels to the pavement. You track bar is the only solid piece of suspension that orients your axle side to side on the truck. When your track bar joints have more play, you instantly feel it in the steering wheel and the driveability of the truck becomes noticably worse. This is why it's so important to make sure your track bar ball joint is in good shape is it is the gatekeeper to good driving and steering performance.

IMPORTANT NOTE: DOES NOT work with wide track models.

HOUSING

• SAE 1045 Solid Steel Forged Housing: This is unequivocally the best carbon alloy steel for this application.
• CNC Machined Housing: Make their parts and bearings dimensionally perfect, eliminating any die wear issues.

BALL STUDS

• SAE 4140 hot forged Chromoly Ball Studs: For the strongest possible metallurgy.
• Induction Heat Treated Ball Studs: Provides a very precise heat treatment to the exact depth and location we want it.
• Rolled Threads: Are made by pressing the shape of the threads into the ball stud instead of cutting. This strengthens the threads instead of weakening them and allows for easy movement of hardware. This ain't no Ikea furniture!
• Step Threads: allows for very easy movement of hardware on install and superior holding when torqued (installer choice).

BEARING DESIGN

BOOTS

• CR Rubber Boots: The most durable material for undercar applications. Resistant to deterioration from road level ozone, oil/gas/engine fluids and extreme heat or cold
• Internal Seal Boot: The boot is coined onto the ball joint, for superior sealing against contaminants and easier install.
• Accordion Boot: Ideal for high-articulation components, more flexibility means longer life.

FINISH

• Phosphate Finish: Extremely durable. Double coated. Threads coated as well. Rugged look.

HARDWARE

• Grade 8 - Class 10.9 Hardware: Superior tensile strength.
• Castle Nut: Industry standard where high vibration loads occur.

LUBRICATION

• Pre threaded Zerk Housing: If you have ever installed a MOOG Ball Joint without a pre-threaded zerk fitting you will understand what a simple but great feature this is. Another installer fav.
• Greaseable: Because it should be.

• Gull Winged Grease Grooves: Allows for improved lubrication disbursement around the ball stud.
