Splitting and cracking which usually occurs with plastic feeders after a few years are something to be forgotten and provides you with a feeder that will last many years. Another excellent benefit that comes with the Defender feeders is that they are chew proof, troublesome squirrels that often destroy plastic feeders will be foiled by their resilient material meaning no more replacing feeders because of their pesky behaviour, although they will still be able to feed from them.
The Defender range comes with fold-able ring perches. Ring perches are a great innovative design which allows your garden birds to feed facing forward. This gives your birds almost 360° vision allowing them to spot incoming predators a lot easier giving your birds more confidence when they're feeding and encouraging them to feed on the feeder for long periods of time granting you with more precious time viewing them feed. Ring perches also encourage some ground-feeding birds such as robins to feed from the feeder as they find them much more comfortable to feed on than the usual stick perches.
A threaded pole mount is included underneath the feeder allowing the addition of feeder trays or a pole to this feeder. Screws within the ports of the feeder can be removed to dismantle the feeder for thorough cleaning. UV stabilised polycarbonate tubes stop the discolouring or cracking of the tube when placed in direct sunlight.
