Hugger Backpack 25L – The Structured, Stealth Pack for Busy Days

Meet the Hugger Backpack 25L by DB Journey — a clean, protective backpack built for modern city life: fast commutes, packed schedules, and the occasional “let’s leave Friday after work” escape. This updated Hugger keeps what people love about the icon — structured protection and easy access — but refines the vibe with a more streamlined exterior, improved shoulder straps, and extra internal organisation.

In real life, the 25L is the sweet spot when your day isn’t “just laptop”. It swallows a 16” MacBook Pro, a tech pouch, a water bottle, a layer, and a few “just in case” extras — without looking like you’re hauling luggage. And yes: the main compartment opens fully, so you can actually see what you packed. (Your chargers won’t live at the bottom of the abyss anymore.)

Who is it for?

Urban commuters, students, creatives, and frequent travellers who want a structured everyday backpack that protects gear without the bulky hiking look. If you regularly go from métro → café → coworking → gym → train (sometimes all in one day), this is the kind of bag that keeps your setup tidy — and your brain quieter. Bonus: it fits up to a 16” MacBook Pro.

What Makes It Stand Out

  • 🧱 Rib Cage protection that keeps the bag upright: An internal structure with lightweight ABS ribs helps the Hugger hold its silhouette and adds an extra layer of protection for daily carry. (Useful when the bag gets shoved under a desk, in a locker, or into an overhead bin.)
  • 🧳 Full clamshell opening: The main compartment opens wide, so packing is faster and grabbing gear doesn’t turn into a treasure hunt. (Travel days, gym swaps, airport security… it’s instantly practical.)
  • 💻 Built for a 16” MacBook Pro: A dedicated laptop carry for work, study, and travel — with quick access when your day is moving. (Tech stays protected, and you don’t have to overthink it.)
  • 🎒 Updated straps for everyday comfort: Improved shoulder straps help the bag sit better and carry nicer when you’re walking fast, commuting, or doing long airport corridors. (Better weight distribution when you pack heavier.)
  • 🧩 Organisation that matches real life: Extra internal pockets keep small essentials in their lane — charger, keys, passport, sunglasses, snack stash. (That “I know exactly where it is” feeling.)
  • 🔗 Hook-Up System™ compatible: Integrates with DB’s travel ecosystem so you can connect it to compatible luggage for smoother one-hand travel. (Clean, modular carry when you’re rolling luggage.)
  • ♻️ Responsible materials: Built with polyester materials, with bluesign® and GRS listed for the materials on this model. (Less compromise, same DB focus on durability.)

Think of it as a minimalist city backpack with travel-grade practicality: stable, protective, and designed to move with you. It’s not trying to be flashy — it’s trying to make your day feel easier. And honestly? It does.

A good bag doesn’t scream “look at me” — it just quietly makes everything smoother.

Why You’re Going to Love It

The Hugger isn’t about loud features. It’s about the calm confidence of a pack that stays structured, protects what matters, and keeps access simple. You grab it without thinking… then you notice you’re packing faster, finding things quicker, and carrying with less fuss.

  • Holds its shape and protects your gear, even when the bag isn’t fully packed.
  • Makes access easier thanks to the full-opening main compartment.
  • Carries comfortably on the move — commute, travel, and long walking days.
  • Looks clean and stealth in the city: structured silhouette, minimal exterior.
  • Plays well with travel setups via Hook-Up System™ compatibility.

Quick real-world note: this backpack weighs 1.13 kg. It’s not ultralight — and that’s the trade-off for a structured build that protects tech and keeps the bag standing strong. If you want soft-and-featherweight, you’ll feel the difference. If you want protection + shape retention, that weight is doing a job.

Want one backpack that handles city pace and short trips without changing personality? The Hugger Backpack 25L is a sharp pick: structured, smart, and built for everyday freedom. Explore the full DB backpacks lineup on EIKEN.

FAQ

+

Yes. The Hugger Backpack 25L is designed to fit up to a 16” MacBook Pro, making it a solid option for workdays, study days, and travel when you need reliable laptop carry.

+

It’s an internal structure made with lightweight ABS ribs that helps the backpack keep its shape and adds extra protection for your gear. The result: a pack that stays stable, looks clean, and better shields what’s inside.

+

The structured rib-cage build helps the bag hold its silhouette and stay more stable than a soft daypack, even when partially packed. That structure is a big part of the Hugger’s clean look.

+

For a minimalist packer, yes. A 25L works well for a 1–2 night escape: a change of clothes, toiletries, tech kit, and a light jacket. If you pack bulky items (winter layers, big shoes), you may prefer a larger travel bag.

+

A typical “day + commute + gym” loadout fits easily: 16” laptop, charger, headphones, notebook, water bottle, lunch box, a light jacket, plus small essentials like keys, wallet and sunglasses. The internal pockets help keep the small stuff exactly where you want it.

+

It can work well for bike commuting thanks to the structured build and improved shoulder straps. If you ride hard or carry heavy loads, adjusting straps snugly makes a big difference for stability.

+

It’s built for everyday city weather and light rain. For heavy downpours or long exposure, a rain cover is the safest option — especially if you carry tech.

+

Often, yes — but it depends on the airline. Compare your airline’s personal-item limits with the bag’s dimensions (49.5 x 30 x 22.5 cm). Since it’s structured, it won’t compress like a soft backpack.

+

DB’s Hook-Up System™ lets compatible backpacks connect to DB luggage setups for smoother travel. It’s made for a clean one-hand airport flow and a modular travel carry.

+

It’s designed to look streamlined thanks to the stealth exterior and structured silhouette. It carries like a purposeful city pack, not like an oversized hiking backpack — especially with a laptop + essentials loadout.

Overall AMAZING moniter for the price
Size: 24"/FHD/240Hz
It dose everything it said it did without any downsides thus far. I will say having it grouped with all the other monitors in the listing kinda skews the reviews for all the monitors and the HDR 400 certification not being a real HDR value is a bit scummy for marketing however over all its a amazing monitor. virtually 0 input lantancy as far as i can tell and its more than bright enough for me. Its color calibration is a bit off by default but can be easily fixed by switching to the cool setting. I was expecting it to come with a display port cable but it only came with a HDMI cable. I would have liked to see a display port cable but i understand why its a HDMI cable. It was very easy to setup and easy to use as its just the stand, the monitor, and the HDMI and power cords. The monitor stand is nice but its obviously where Koorui cheaped out however for a monitor of this price you cant beat it.

Excellent Budget Gaming Monitor
Size: 24.5" 200Hz/FHD
I’m very impressed with this monitor for the price. The 200Hz refresh rate makes gameplay feel incredibly smooth, especially in fast-paced games. The picture quality is sharp, colors look good, and the screen size is perfect for both gaming and everyday use.

Better off saving your money for a quality brand like Acer or Samsung
Size: 24"/FHD/240Hz
If you were looking for a decent gaming monitor with a good refresh rate, you better keep looking. Honestly, I wanted to really like this thing. For $120, it ticked off a lot of great features for me: at least 120Hz refresh rate, 1080p quality, and some nifty reticule marks for FPS gamers like myself. And for a year I had no problems with it until a few days ago. The ability to control input's, power, and toggle the reticule features all lie on one singular button behind the monitor. Here lie's the issue; if that power button starts messing up, there is no way to control or turn on/off the monitor. This is exactly what happened on my unit; the power button/control went out and the monitor was basically useless. I contacted Koorui support via email, and all I got was a vague "Did you confirm the button is really broken" response. Replied back that I did, and the manufacturer has ghosted me. Basically, I HIGHLY advise you just save up a few $80 or $100 dollars and get a decent entry level gaming monitor. By going cheap with this one, you will just end up probably wearing out the power/control button and be left with an expensive paperweight. If you are DIY repair savvy, I am sure that replacing the power/control button probably is not that big of a deal. In which case, go right ahead as it is a decent monitor for the price. But with that said, having this thing break leaves you with basically no options to get it fixed and good luck trying to get a hold of Koorui for support. Sadly, this is a growing trend on buying electronic's here on amazon from smaller brand sellers. *Update* So as of writing this review, I got Koorui to reach out to me. They would agree to replace the monitor for free, but I would have to front the shipping costs. They have their operations out in California, so if you live on the east coast then expect to pay around $40-50 for shipping for the monitor all the way out there (nearly half the monitor's value). I told Koorui that this just did not make any financial sense and they offered to refund me 50% of the monitor's value. However, they have yet to specify how they will send the refund, so I am unsure of whether I will see my partial refund when this is all said and done. So know that if you do proceed to get this monitor and need to return it past the 30 day return window covered by Amazon. TLDR: just save up an extra $50-100 for a big brand gaming monitor and save yourself the headache of dealing with all of this.
