The Tascam MS-16 is a legendary 16-track, 1-inch reel-to-reel tape recorder, first introduced in the late 1980s. Known for its warm analog sound, it's still used by studios today for recording drums, guitars, and more, offering that authentic tape vibe!


Condition:

• This is a used unit.

• This unit has had a major service. The unit is a pleasure to use and is fully functioning.

• Since this MS-16 has been professionally serviced they are ready to go at home or in the studio.

• The service included testing all functions, repairing any faults across the R/P channel cards, replacing all faulty electronic parts, deep clean and service of the tape mechanism / transport, installing brand new bearings, PSU refurbishment, demagnetising the heads and calibrating input and record levels.

• The cosmetic condition of the MS-16 is very good, the unit shows a small amount of wear from use and age. Some of the shiny finish has come off the front near the VU meters, like someone had some tape on there and ripped it off in the past. It has some general nicks, marks and scratches. The little light for the channel 16 Sync / Input looks like it has been changed in the past as it is more of an orange red colour, rather than a yellow orange colours. Overall there is nothing major at all, nor anything which detracts from the use, functions or sound of this beauty.

• This unit is a factory 240V model. This means it is ready to plug and play within Australia! If you purchase from overseas you may need a step-up transformer. Please ask if you are unsure.

• This sale is for the MS-16 racked up nicely in its original trolley with casters. It has the analogue VU meters and its two DX-80S noise reduction units. No other parts, tape reels or accessories are included.
