Compared to other systems like the Pintop, the Backcountry package is slightly softer on-road but delivers impressive off-road performance for a 2.0" shock. When paired with Carli's Full Progressive Leaf Springs and Torsion Sway Bar, this system provides Carli's best on-road ride quality, making it a fantastic option for daily driving while still being capable of tackling dirt roads and trails.

Both the Internal Reservoir (IFP) and Remote Reservoir shocks feature a high-quality construction, with a body made from 6063 aluminum that ensures excellent heat dissipation and long-term durability. These shocks are anodized to resist corrosion and fitted with 5/8" hardened and chrome-plated steel shafts, offering strength and reliability. Additionally, the shocks are filled with premium 5WT oil, which balances lubricity, consistent damping, and temperature variation, ensuring smooth performance across a wide range of conditions.

A standout feature of the Backcountry shocks is the use of rubber stem-top bushings. Carli Suspension has long preferred rubber bushings over the commonly used poly bushings, particularly in stem-top designs. The 6061 billet aluminum rod ends are equipped with high-quality, 1-piece bushings and zinc-plated crush sleeves, ensuring a precise fit and long-lasting performance.
