This oil painting of an Arion saddle is painted on a 6x6" panel with an 8x8" open grain wood frame. I love the contrast of the white stitching against the rich brown leather. Was it brought along to horse shows? Maybe a little girl struggled to throw it over a school pony's back every Wednesday after school. Only the saddle's owner knows what life it's encountered; but even then, a saddle has secret memories we can only speculate through its stains and wrinkles.
