This note pad opens flat to 180°, and uses ukigami, a type of Echizen washi paper produced with unique methods, for its front cover. Because the center of the book doesn't rise up when open, it provides a sensation just like writing on a flat sheet of paper. This "flat opening" book binding is an original patented technology of Nakamura Printing Company, founded in Asakusa in 1938.

The veteran craftsmen of Tokyo's Shitamachi area finally perfected this notebook after many hundreds of prototypes. Using the flat opening technology, which until now has been mainly used for notebooks, Cohana has created a functional note pad in which all of both pages can be written on. The 2.5 mm grid paper makes even small writing easy to read, and with 4 squares equaling 1 cm, it is easy to make calculations with, so perfect for making designs or sketches on. The light gray lines and off-white paper won't tire the eyes or clash with any colors you use.

An elastic band is fitted to the hard front cover, allowing you to place it in a bag without any worries.
