The Montblanc Muses Marlene Dietrich Ballpoint Pen channels the cool poise and modern allure of one of cinema's most enduring icons. Subtle, refined, and unmistakably Montblanc, this Special Edition brings Dietrich's boundary-pushing style into a poised writing instrument that suits both collection and daily carry.

As part of the Montblanc Muses Collection, this piece celebrates cultural influence with a design language that favors restraint and timeless elegance. The result is a balanced, beautifully finished ballpoint that feels composed in the hand and quietly distinctive on the desk.

Craftsmanship & Design

Montblanc's signature precious resin, rendered in a deep, lustrous black, forms the core of the pen's silhouette. Platinum-coated metal accents add a crisp counterpoint, framing the profile with an understated sheen. Crowned by the white Montblanc emblem, the overall composition is clean and architectural, evoking Dietrich's tailored sophistication without leaning on overt motifs.

Proportions are thoughtfully judged for comfort and control. The clip arcs with purpose, and the trim is precisely fitted, reflecting the brand's emphasis on surface quality, polish, and long-wearing durability. It is an object meant to be handled, admired, and used for years.

Writing Experience

A precise twist-action mechanism advances the writing tip with satisfying smoothness. Paired with Montblanc's ballpoint refills, the pen delivers clean lines and consistent ink flow across a wide range of paper types. The weight distribution favors effortless, everyday note-taking while maintaining enough substance for longer sessions and signature work.

Maintenance is minimal: refills swap in quickly, color options are readily available, and the mechanism is engineered for reliability. It is a straightforward, dependable writing tool dressed in the language of classic luxury.

Provenance

The Muses Collection honors women whose creativity, individuality, and influence shaped the 20th century. Marlene Dietrich's cinematic presence, sharp wit, and androgynous tailoring redefined modern elegance; this Special Edition nods to that legacy through a refined palette and disciplined form.

Made in Germany, the pen reflects Montblanc's long-standing approach to manufacturing: precise engineering, carefully selected materials, and finishing standards that have anchored the brand's reputation with writers and collectors alike.

Entertaining read
Format: Kindle
I wanted to educate myself on some of the issues that are presented in this book. If you're looking for just factual case-law and supreme court decisions this is not the book you're looking for. This book presents the cases in a story and gives a lot of detail about what went on in the lives of the people involved in these lawsuits outside of the courtroom. The only thing that I wish would have been talked about in greater detail would be a more in-depth look at the opinions and reasons from the justices that were not voting in favor of the plaintiffs.

Excellent Details
Format: Kindle
If you're like me, you've probably either never heard of these cases or heard about them in only the broadest of strokes. For remedying that, this book is excellent. Thomas provides a detailed account of how these complaints came to be, how they wended their way through the cases, and why they are important in terms of outcome and legal precedent. This is a book that I'm glad to have read and one that I would highly recommend to others.

engrossing, revealing, shocking, fascinating -- 10 gritty women who won big cases at great personal loss
Format: Kindle
Thankfully, women no longer have to pay more for retirement plans, and get lower payouts, than men. Amazing how many different, inventive the ways were in the 1960's to keep women out of jobs. Bless Title VII and the attorneys and clients who fought these battles; we stand on their shoulders. The saddest part is the update, at the end of the book showing how protections against gender discrimination in the workplace have weakened in recent years. In particular, it has become difficult, or nearly impossible, to prove that a hostile work environment exists so long as employers pay lip service to certain ideas and practices and hide what's really going on--which we working women KNOW still goes on, unfortunately.

Entertaining, personal history of landmark cases
Format: Hardcover
Amazing look behind the scenes at the people (plaintiffs and lawyers) who made equality for women at work a reality. Compelling, heartwarming, and educational - should be required reading for anyone who holds a job in 21st century America - both to learn how far we've come and to see the ways in which we need to continue the fight for equality at work.
