Med-Mizer Low Air Loss & Alternating Pressure Mattress System – 36x80x8 Cell-on-Cell Support

The Med-Mizer Low Air Loss & Alternating Pressure Mattress System is a powered support surface designed to provide dynamic comfort and airflow for homecare and clinical settings. Featuring a cell-on-cell air design and integrated pump system, it delivers consistent, adjustable support for users up to 450 lbs.

Maneuverability / Portability
Designed to fit standard 36" x 80" hospital beds, this mattress system installs easily and integrates into existing care setups. The lightweight air cell construction allows for efficient setup and repositioning, while the compact control unit mounts conveniently to the bed frame for quick access and adjustments. Its durable cover supports everyday cleaning and maintenance in both home and facility environments.

Power / Performance
This system features alternating pressure air cells that cycle automatically to redistribute support across the mattress surface. The low air loss function helps manage airflow across the surface to promote a cooler, more comfortable experience. The cell-on-cell design ensures that even during power interruptions, the lower air layer maintains structural support. Adjustable pump settings allow caregivers to fine-tune comfort levels based on user preference.

The multi-cell air design provides a balanced feel between support and immersion, while the breathable, fluid-resistant cover enhances everyday usability. The system is designed for quiet operation and consistent performance, making it suitable for extended use. Easy Read with good case studies!!
Format: Paperback
I had to purchase this for my Advanced Pathophysiology class in my Acute Care Nurse Practitioner program. It is very easy to understand and have pretty good case studies. I like that the CD that accompanies the book goes into some detail in explaining the cases further and the disease processes without giving you the answers to the questions. It stimulates one to think!! Once this class is over I will go back from time to time to review!!

Helpful
Format: Paperback
This is a nice compliment to other classroom instruction materials. I am teaching an advanced pathophysiology course in a nurse practitioner program. This book is very helpful for students to put together the concepts of patho with the clinical setting. Will use these for in-class group assignments. Case-studies are thorough and offer a variety of different disease processes to choose from. It certainly does not offer a case study for every possible disease or clinical scenario, but does cover most major areas and enough variety in my opinion. Should be helpful in reinforcing the clinical significance of some difficult to understand concepts. I would recommend this text to course instructors.

Good book!
Format: Paperback
Very helpful book for pathophysiology. The CD not only gives you answers to the case studies but gives you clear details of the clinical Pathophysiology of a particular disease. Definitely recommend it to students going for their Master's degree!

No Answers Provided to Case Studies
Format: Paperback
The cases are helpful; however, realize that there are NO answers whatsoever to the questions presented in the cases--not a huge problem I suppose, b/c you can google everything, but certainly an annoyance. (esp. when there are multiple possible answers. The author states in the foreword that some of the cases are real; in which case, why not provide the justification presented in the patient's chart as to why that patient takes a particular drug, esp. considering that you may take a drug for its side effects rather than its therapeutic effect. . .anyhow. . ) I think if the author provided at least SOME insight/guidance to the cases that it would be much more helpful, but until then, I'm skeptical as to why others gave this book 5 stars.
