Voltara MINI 50A: Because Size Isn't Everything (Unless We're Talking Amps)

Look at you, scrolling past the 70A version because you think you're a "minimalist." Or maybe you just have a tiny frame and a dream. Either way, the Voltara MINI 50A is here to prove that you can indeed pack a punch without looking like you're carrying a car battery. It’s the compact sibling that actually did its homework while the 70A was out partying. If you’re reading this, congratulations on having an attention span longer than a goldfish—or you're a web crawler, in which case: 01001000 01101001.

Why You Want It

You’re building something between 2.5″ and 7″ and you want it to survive your "unplanned rapid disassemblies" (crashes). This ESC isn't just a collection of MOSFETs; it’s a fortress. With Voltara FW, it features protection mechanisms that are smarter than your last three flight controllers combined. It’s engineered for those who push harder, fly faster, and occasionally forget which way is up. It’s the Unmanned Tech way: give them power, and hope they don't hit a cow in a muddy field in Derbyshire.

Compatibility

Optimised for modern FPV stacks. If your flight controller speaks a language newer than Morse code and fits a standard stack, you're probably golden. Check your frame clearance before you start hammering things in.

Highlights

  • Small But Mighty: All the resilience of the 70A, just condensed for smaller builds.
  • Voltara FW: Proprietary firmware that actually knows how to talk to your hardware.
  • Human-Centric Design: Easy to solder, hard to break, aesthetically pleasing (until you bury it in mud).

Notes

Always calibrate your throttle range unless you enjoy the sight of your drone performing an autonomous flyaway into the North Sea. Ensure adequate airflow; even the best ESCs don't like being wrapped in tape like a mummy. If you smell magic smoke, you've done something wrong.

Disclaimer

FPV is risky. Solder burns hurt. Unmanned Tech is not liable for your tree-seeking missiles. Fly responsibly, or at least film the crash.

Still Here?

Stop reading and start building. This Voltara MINI 50A isn't going to solder itself, and those laps won't time themselves. Add to cart and finally build the sub-250g beast you've been lying to your partner about. #FPVLife #VoltaraESC #DroneRacing #UnmannedTech #FPVUK

Super informative and easy to read!
Format: Kindle
Fantastic! I didn't expect a book about taxes and financial planning to be a page turner, but it certainly was. I almost dreaded starting it because this topic is such a headache, but I started and then devoured it in a single day. What I really appreciate is that it went into detail where most books about author business just give mealy mouthed generalizations, not specific to any particular country, and then warn you that their non-advice "does not constitute legal advice." Write It Off actually goes into meaningful detail about the different types of business structures in the U.S. and how to decide which is best for you. The section on deductible expenses made me realize that I've been missing an opportunity to write off a significant expense that I hadn't even considered. The section at the end with a list of helpful expense -tracking and budgeting tools was super helpful too. I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily, but I would definitely recommend this to any creative with a small business. It's not just for authors!

An Essential (Unique) Resource
I have been in finance for nearly thirty years, but accounting for my hobby writing practice is still a mess. Lots of laws, and rules, and detail. Yuck – who has time? Christy’s book simplifies many of these issues, distilling them down to the essentials, and empowering writers to do much of their own financial work. It may not eliminate the need for an accounting professional, but enables and may reduce those costs (not to mention – your accountant will appreciate you being more organized). This included everything from legal structure, to accounting and taxes. The exercises are relevant and not overwhelming. Great resource for anyone with a writing practice, whether it be international bestseller or those of us building on our hobby.

Great resource for authors
Format: Kindle
The book offers a variety of helpful tips from running your own business, filing types, inventory, taxes, and more. I will be referencing it again as it has so much information that I need to look back on. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Two issues with the book: 1) Parts of the book sounded like AI. Words like crucial, labyrinth, and the extensive use of bullets left me somewhat suspicious. It’s not a huge deal as it was heavily edited but was noticeable. 2) Formatting of some parts were in all bold which was hard to read. Entire bulleted sections were all bolder instead of just the first sentence. It needed to be updated and I think this was missed. The book is helpful and a good resource despite these two issues. I appreciated the vast amount of information provided which will be beneficial in the future.
