Duemilaquattro – Espresso with Jamaica Blue Mountain

2004 – the founding year of Espresso International – gave its name to our first own blend: Duemilaquattro.

Developed together with our partner La Genovese, this roast combines high-quality, aromatically complex Arabicas with 20 % strong Robusta. The blend is refined with 5 % Jamaica Blue Mountain, which adds silky sweetness and depth. A dense, finely marbled crema completes the profile.

Medium roast, Italian roasted, pleasantly low in acidity.

Profile & Character
Duemilaquattro reveals notes of milk chocolate, hazelnut, caramel, and roasted almond. Beneath lie hints of dried fruit, red apple, apricot, a touch of vanilla, and honey – elegantly lifted by the Jamaica Blue Mountain accent.

The body is full and silky, with barely perceptible acidity. As an espresso, it is clear and balanced, with good structure – and even with milk, the nutty-chocolate notes remain. The finish: long, harmonious, and delicately fruity.

Why roasted in Italy?
Since 2004, we have worked with Italy’s finest roasters. For our first in-house blend, one thing was clear: only an experienced Italian partner like La Genovese would do.

Why include Jamaica Blue Mountain?
Because 5 % is enough to elevate a very good espresso to a whole new level.

Di Giampaolo Caffè Maestrale

“Maestrale” is the Italian name for the Mistral – a strong northwesterly wind that is particularly noticeable in the lower Rhône Valley. The term can be traced back to the word “Maestro” – symbolizing masterful craftsmanship.

The Maestrale impresses with a classic aroma profile, characterized by intense notes of chocolate and roasted nuts. Subtle fruity nuances, such as citrus and pineapple, provide delicate accents in the background without overpowering the strong foundation. Ideal for anyone who appreciates a well-balanced, aromatic espresso – whether enjoyed on its own or in milk-based drinks.

Moka Efti Extra BAR

The Moka Efti Extra BAR reveals a particularly harmonious character as an espresso, featuring a stable crema, fine fruity acidity, and well-integrated notes of dark chocolate. Its medium roast delivers a pleasant fullness without being overpowering – just right for preparing a cappuccino.

This blend also performs beautifully in fully automatic machines: even as a Schümli, it remains smooth, aromatic, and free from bitterness – even with a longer extraction. A long cup that delights right to the last sip.

The Arabica and Robusta beans are evenly roasted, presenting themselves at their best both in the cup and in appearance.

The traditional packaging design, with its oriental elements, is a stylish homage to the origins of coffee: the famous MOKA Efti café shaped Berlin’s coffeehouse culture of the 1920s with a blend of Art Deco and oriental flair.
