Fitting and handling
Allow the MDF components to acclimatise in the room for at least 24 hours before fixing, particularly in rooms with underfloor heating or varying humidity. Fix directly to a clean, flat wall surface using a grab adhesive, finish nails or fine-thread screws countersunk and filled before painting. Once installed, prime all cut edges and faces with an MDF primer before applying your chosen topcoat to achieve a uniform, long-lasting finish.

Can the MDF Shaker Wall Panel Kit WPKT6 be used in a bathroom or kitchen?
Standard MDF is not moisture-resistant and is not recommended for wet rooms, shower areas or above splashbacks. For kitchens and bathrooms, a moisture-resistant MDF product would be more suitable. This kit is best suited to dry interior rooms.
What paint should I use on MDF wall panelling?
Begin with a solvent-based or water-based MDF primer to seal the surface and prevent the paint from soaking in unevenly. Once primed and lightly sanded, any quality interior emulsion or eggshell topcoat can be applied for a clean, durable finish.
How many kits will I need to cover a wall?
