Being the oldest Port House in the world has its advantages, and one of greatest advantages come through in Kopke’s Tawny Port production. Tawny ports have an age designation of 10, 20, 30, 40, and 50 years. This designates an average age of the wine. Being the oldest, Kopke has older wine than most port houses to draw from to blend in to their Tawny Ports. This means that some of the port in a bottle is much older than the age designation.
