Long before the skincare aisle existed — before the serums and the toners and the twelve-step routines described in breathless detail by people on the internet — people figured out that certain things found in the ground had a particular gift for drawing other things out of the skin. CHARCOAL & CLAY begins with activated charcoal — the kind that pulls things toward it with an almost magnetic insistence — and pairs it with kaolin clay, the gentler of the two, which softens and refines without stripping away what the skin actually needs. Together they produce a lather that is deeply cleansing without being punishing. A bar that leaves your face feeling genuinely clean — not tight, not raw, just clean — the way a face wash is supposed to feel and rarely does.

To this we have added grapeseed oil, pressed from the seeds of California wine grapes and rich with antioxidants, for a bar that is as nourishing as it is thorough. The scent is clean and woodsy. Unisex, as all truly good things are.
