Description

The Shapton Glass Stone HR 1.47 Micron #10000 Grit is part of the Glass Stone series, known for its revolutionary design that combines glass layers to create thin and lightweight sharpening stones. These stones offer exceptional usability and allow users to achieve a refined polish and superior edge on their blades. The series also includes various accessories that enjoy worldwide popularity.

The 10000 grit Glass Stone is classified as a Fine grit stone, ideal for adding to your sharpening progression to achieve optimal sharpness. It leaves a refined polish and superior edge on your blade.

Contrary to the conventional image of large and heavy sharpening stones, Glass Stones are thin, light, and strong due to the layers of tempered glass bonded together. This construction provides them with a high resistance to cracking and sudden breakage caused by external shocks, such as accidental drops.

The abrasives in these glass stones are extremely uniform, ensuring that the abrasive encountered with the first pass of a blade remains consistent until the end of the stone's life. This uniformity allows for reliable and precise sharpening results.

The Glass Stone series includes two types each of the 4000, 6000, and 8000 sharpening stones. The main difference between them lies in the abrasive agents used. Specifically, the Glass Stone series 50603, 50703, and 50803 are recommended for sharpening composite steel blades where steel has been forge-welded with another metal.

Each Glass Stone in the series consists of a 5mm tempered glass backing plate bonded to a 5mm thick stone. Shapton sharpening Glass Stones are made with finely graded ceramic cutting media, which requires less flattening and has a longer lifespan compared to most whetstones.

For premium stability and professional results, consider adding a Shapton Stone holder to your sharpening setup.

Holds up pretty well.
Color: Green Helix, Size: Medium
Holds up against my velociraptor! Much better than some of the other holey balls that get torn apart quickly. I think this is a great idea to reuse old shoe soles into toys for the heavy chewers like heelers. I would like to see a large ball like 10-12 inch diameter, so they can push and throw it around.

Molly loves her ball!
Color: Blue Helix, Size: Large
Soft and easily caught by a rambunctious Border Collie. She loves her ball and points to it with her nose when she's ready for another game of "ball". Easy to throw and easy to clean of slobbers!

Great Strong Chew Toy but not too Hard
Color: Red Pulse, Size: Medium
Great strong chew toy. It's very strong and does not tear apart like everything else. At the same time it is not hard plastic like the last brown one I ordered that could break my dog's teeth. My dog is a 2 yr old 14 lb Chi mix with a super strong bite. He tore all the stuffies up and even the nylon toy that was supposed to withstand a lot. This is the one toy that could outsmart him. I play fetch with him and it has a nice weird hop due it's shape so it keeps him interested and surprised. It's a bit heavier than other similar toys and I'm guessing bigger dogs would definitely like it too. I'm very pleased after buying so many others that were easily chewed up or too hard.
