I could never begin to list all of the documents that are included but I will cover a few and give a summary. They cover date ranges from 1922 all the way through 1955 but a majority are wartime. The soldiers name was Heinz Brossen, born 5.9.21 in Krefeld. His SS number was 38783. His first listed rank in the paperwork is Mann and the last listed rank is Hauptscharführer. Documents include immunization records, a Deutsches Reichs Kennkarte, his HJ ID, an NSRL honor certificate for winning a 4 x 100 relay, a report card, reports from a vehicle manufacturing factory that he worked for, award documents for the KVKII w/swords and the Russian Front medal (a ribbon bar is included), a hand drawn reunion card with many signatures of comrades and much, much more. A total of approximately 65 documents are included. I must mention one that I found very interesting. It is dated March 5, 1948 and it is from Der Spruchfericht, the court of appeals. It has ruled that he has to pay 1800.-RM because he “was a member of a criminal organization, namely the SS, from 1939-1945 as a hauptscharführer”. Very interesting! Now, the icing on the cake, the amazing photo album. It is black leatherette with silver runes and script on the front cover. It says “In Honor of my Service Time” and it is string bound. There are 25 pages inside with 77 photos of different sizes. They consists of training exercises, personal photos of Brossen, combat in cold weather (presumably Russia), tanks and other equipment and one that shows the open casket at the funeral of a fallen comrade where there is a huge SS flag behind the casket. This is about the most amazing SS photo and document I have ever encountered!
