As with all wood, it's not dishwasher safe nor ideal to leave the handle part soaked in water.

A simple handwash wipe down the item after use will get all the blood, I mean tomato puree pizza sauce off your axe.  There's a little wiggle room with the blade to allow for you to easily rinse out any toppings or sauce from within the blade casing too.

Works fine on the vast majority of pizzas you'll be throwing in your oven, but anything with an outrageously thick crust you may want to go at with a knife for that, as this blade only protrudes out by about an inch.
