Description

Polymaker HT-PLA 1.75mm Filament 1kgPLA is the number one material for 3D printing, but parts printed in almost every PLA filament are subject to deforming if exposed to heat on a summer day. Polymaker HT PLA sets a new standard for accessible heat stable 3D

PLA is the number one material for 3D printing, but parts printed in almost every PLA filament are subject to deforming if exposed to heat on a summer day. Filaments such as PETG, ASA or Nylon are capable of offering excellent heat resistance but many users from hobbyists to small businesses and schools, choose to print exclusively in PLA due to its extensive printer compatibility.

Polymaker™ HT-PLA sets a new standard for accessible heat-stable 3D printing, offering an easy-to-use PLA material that can maintain its shape in unstressed applications at high temperatures (up to 130°C) without sagging or deforming. Enjoy the ease of printing and eco-friendliness of PLA—with higher heat stability and no post-processing required.

Need a PLA that has heat resistance with some load? Checkout Polymaker™ HT-PLA-GF which features glass fibers and is optimised for annealing.

Features

  • Expand your horizons - Shake off the summer anxiety with Polymaker™ HT-PLA. Polymaker™ HT-PLA delivers a more life-proof PLA material, removing the risk of your projects melting on a hot summer day. The inherent softening temperature of Polymaker™ HT-PLA is extremely useful for hobbyists, market sellers and educators and also delivers a unique solution for sign writers, artists, film makers and cosplayers who typically like to use low-warp materials but have concerns surrounding the temperature stability of normal PLA.
  • What is Heat Stability? - Heat stability refers to the ability to remain dimensionally stable at elevated temperatures under no or minimal external load other than its own weight. Polymaker™ HT-PLA delivers high heat stability up to 130°C right off the printer, no post-processing required! Generic HT-PLA require annealing to increase the softening temperature, a process which will often distort the model; with Polymaker™ HT-PLA you can simply print your model and it can handle up to 130°C in "unloaded" applications. No post-processing required.
  • High Speed Capable - Polymaker™ HT-PLA is based on a high-speed PLA formula, enabling high speed printing up to 300mm/s and compatibility with a wide range of 1.75mm diameter machines. An enclosure is not needed for this high temp filament!
  • Good Strength - At room temperature, Polymaker™ HT-PLA offers good rigidity and strength for functional parts however z-axis layer adhesion is lower than normal PLA, so not ideal for some single-wall prints.
  • No Compromise - At its core Polymaker™ HT-PLA is a PLA-based multiphase composite, built around NatureWorks PLA so you can expect similar biodegradability, chemical resistance and the same low shrinkage rate as normal PLA. Combining Polymakers innovative R&D technologies, compounding and extrusion systems with Natureworks Ingeo® resins produces a reliable 3D printing filament to print beautiful and accurate models.

Comparison Guide

Applications

Household & Decor

Temperature has always been a key limitation for household 3D printing. If printed in PLA, custom coffee coasters will melt, 3D printed vases by the window may get very hot in the sun and home-made 3D printed jewellery will deform when accidently left in the hot-car.

Materials like PETG, ABS and ASA offer a more life-proof solution, however these materials behave quite differently and many users do not have the capability or in some cases desire, to print in a material other than PLA. Polymaker™ HT-PLA further accelerates the applications of household 3D printing, delivering heat stability up to 130°C with no post-processing required. This performance is ground-breaking for the numerous applications where a 3D print can be temporarily exposed to high temperatures with no mechanical force applied.

Custom Gadgets and Products

A wide range of housings, drawer organisers and printer parts can be exposed to temperatures that would melt regular PLA / PETG, especially when left in the average Australians garage. Polymaker™ HT-PLA offers an easy-to-print material for applications where dimensionally stability at high temperatures is required.

For applications where heat resistance under force is required we recommend considering Polymaker HT-PLA-GF which has a high heat deflection temperature (110°C +) after annealing. Technically Polymaker™ HT-PLA can be annealed to increase heat deflection temperature, however the glass fibres in HT-PLA-GF help to maintain dimensional accuracy.

For users who require high heat deflection temperature and cannot anneal; consider PETG, ABS or ASA. For users interested in printing high strain brackets and require creep resistance and heat resistance - we recommend considering ASA which is popular in the custom printer community.

Hobbyist Projects & Accessories

Whether it be cosplay, jewelry, miniatures or another hobbyist project, no one likes to spend countless hours 3D printing project and then having the part deform on a hot summer day. Polymaker HT-PLA delivers a more life-proof and temperature stable PLA material to confidently print these projects.

Printing settings

  • Nozzle Temperature: 210˚C - 230˚C
  • Bed Temperature: 25˚C - 60˚C
  • Build Surface Material: Works well with most build surfaces i.e Glass, Blue Tape, BuildTak® etc.
  • Printing Speed: up to 300mm/s
  • Fan: ON
  • Recommended Support Material:
  • Direct Drive:
    • Retraction Distance: 1-3mm
    • Retraction Speed: 20-40mm/s
  • Drying Settings: 60˚C for 6h (Only if the material has absorbed moisture)

The above are printing recommendations based on 0.4 mm nozzle. Please note ideal printing conditions may vary depending on your 3D printer setup. For high speed 3D printers, make sure to increase your extrusion temperature in order to use higher printing speeds.

Compatibility

Polymaker™ HT-PLA has been engineered with compatibility in mind to print excellently on a wide range of 3D printers.

High rigidity materials like Polymaker™ HT-PLA work best in set ups where the filament guide system is smooth and as no harsh bends.

Of course with thousands of unique 3d printer models on the market, we can't guarantee each filament type will work with every 3D printer. Slicer experience and setting adjustment is always required to get the most out of a material. Before jumping into an ambitious project we always recommend printing some known calibration tests to build or make adjustments to the filament profile.

Excellent value, flawless performance for well over a year and no signs of quitting.
Color: Green/Black
Excellent value, had this for well over a year and it still keeps perfect time, still water resistant. No worries about having to change batteries. Owned a fancy expensive (battery) watch once and the dept. store repair intentionally sabotaged the watch in the hopes I would purchase another from them. Yeah, good luck with that, lost my business forever. This is the 21st century, cell phones are the new time pieces, but solar is totally reliable and Timex makes it happen. Holds a charge for many months, although I prop it in a bright window for a few days every few months or so just to make sure the cells are always fully charged, although it's probably unnecessary, just being over cautious. I haven't actually experienced this watch ever running out of power even after months of use. Damn impressive, as it should be.

Good value for solar watch
Color: Black/Orange
Nice watch! It is plastic like but it is solar. No indiglo button only a little luminous on the hands so you don't want to wear it in tje dark and expect to check the time. 45mm case is good size for my wrist and the band works good also, Not too long not too short. Overall a good watch with no problems

Do not buy
Color: Green/Black
Do not buy. When I received the watch it did not work and the battery was dead. I bought a new battery and it killed that one as well after about a month.

Inexpensive doesn’t mean cheap.
Color: Black/Orange
After 10 months, zero complaints. Well, I got rid of the horrible NATO strap 🙄. That’s a personal preference. Easy to swap out to whatever you like. Keeps accurate time meaning it’s the same time. I’m not micro analyzing it and the seconds gained/lost. It has a confident look and feel and makes you feel good when wearing it. Sure it’s not high priced but it’s not cheap. Very comfortable, light and not unincumbered. If this is what you’re looking at, you’d be satisfied. Great looking, durable and simple watch. Full confidence.
