How can you make the world's best suspension leveling kit even better? Easy, make it tuneable to any road (or off-road) conditions with the flip of a switch. What? Yes, you read that right, an electronically controlled suspension system. Carli Suspension has teamed up with SDi to offer Carli spec'ed shocks that are electronically controlled via an interface that is mounted inside of the cab. The E-Venture system stays two steps ahead of the driver thanks to data input from a provided engine mounted sensor and factory sensors via the OBDII port. The in-cab mounted “Brain” of this system processes the information through a proprietary algorithm. Thanks to this cornucopia of electronic goodness, the E-Venture System reads and reacts the terrain 250 times per second. The resulting ride is the Best. The “best” is an absolute statement… On road? Off Road? Gravel? Rutted, pot-hole filled unmaintained lease roads? Yes… Yes to all of it. The systems takes the capability of a 2.5″ Shock well beyond the threshold anyone has come to expect!
SHOCKS
The shocks themselves are top-tier construction. Hard-anodized aluminum bodies and reservoirs paired with 17-4 stainless shock shafts will stand the test of time and elements. Billet rod ends house Teflon lined bearings to ensure industry leading performance and longevity.
ELECTRONIC CONTROL UNIT
The “Brain” of the system is the ECU (Electronic Control Unit). The ECU Harness uses a large OEM-style connector with a rocker linkage to ensure it remains secured once fastened. Carli played with a few mounting locations during the initial R&D process and the heat-cycling of the initial under-hood location proved detrimental to the ECU’s operable temperature range. To alleviate this issue, they redesigned the harness to accommodate an in-cab mounting location (under the driver’s seat) and completely solved the issue.
HARNESSES
The ECU Harness is home to the connectors for the 4 harnesses in the system that allow all transmission of power and data. All connectors are unique to ensure connections to the ECU can’t be mixed up.
- Front Shock Harness: Male connection on the harness, Female on ECU harness. Connects 2 front shocks to the ECU.
- Rear Shock Harness: Female connection on harness, Male on ECU harness. Connects 2 rear shocks to the ECU.
- Power Harness: Wires power and ground for the system and includes a fuse tap to indicate ignition power to the system.
- Communication Harness: OBDII, Touch Screen, and IMU Sensor Connections all feed into ECU.
SENSORS
Via the communication harness, the ECU accesses data from the engine mounted IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit). This unit senses any change in pitch/roll of the vehicle. The data from this IMU combines with information gathered from the OBDII port (Brake Pressure, RPM, Steering Angle, Throttle, etc.) to anticipate changes in chassis movement. Subsequently, it firms and softens the shocks where necessary to maintain a chassis that’s as level as possible.
TOUCH SCREEN
The most important part of the interface is the one with which you interact. SDI put in a TON of work here to ensure a user-friendly interface with clean integration, and Carli worked with them to take it a step further. The bracket and touch screen mount in place of the bottom grab-handle bolt cover placing the touch screen both visible and out of the way. Also provided is a longer bolt to secure the screen. This location allows for clean routing of the wiring harness that feeds the touch screen without the need to trim the grab handle or weather-stripping.
CARLI MODES
Carli worked with SDI to refine the drive modes, wanting to increase the seat-of-the pants change between each mode. Offered on the E-Venture System are Mountain (Rock-Crawl), Street and Desert Modes. This is in order from softest/least sensitive to most controlled/active. These modes have been EXTENSIVELY refined; there’s nothing standard about them. All you need to do is select the mode and the system will activate the profile instantaneously.
Within each of the above modes, users can refine the ride to their taste and it will auto-save the profile. There are adjustments for the front and rear shocks independently to increase control or comfort within each of the drive modes. Carli tuned and refined their own recommended settings to be centered on ALL drive modes but that doesn’t mean you won’t prefer to run the front in the center of the adjustment and rear all the way toward comfort. Point is, it’s completely up to you!
PRO MODE
This mode takes it a step further for those that like to get nerdy. This mode allows users to adjust the Pitch, Roll, Brake, Throttle and Steering Response. Don’t worry, if your curiosity gets ahead of your knowledge or you failed to track your changes, there's a “Restore Default” setting.
OPERATING SCREEN
While driving, the screen is defaulted to your interface showing the real-time correction at each corner. Numerical values between 0-10 show the adjustment intensity. You’ll notice these numbers change in speed of correction and amount of correction as the drive modes are altered. Swipe the screen to the right and you’ll find the roll/pitch read-out indicating the data being fed by the IMU. This screen is also dimmable to a few different brightness to avoid distraction for those long, late-night drives where you won’t be looking at the touch screen.
HAULING
Arguably the most handy feature is the Rear Load Adjustment. This gives the user incremental control over the rear dampers. When loaded, the rear can be adjusted to find the balance of comfort and support, or even max the rear support to prioritize load support. This adjustment makes a huge difference in the rear control when loaded; this will likely be the most championed feature.
BASE KIT
The truck will sit 4.5” higher in the front (3.5″ if it’s a Tremor) and have more wheel travel thanks to the lighter rate Carli Coil Springs. The Adjustable Track Bar centers the front axle and Stainless Brake Lines firm up braking and ensure there is enough line for the newfound travel. To round off the front end, also included are Caster Shims to tighten the steering and a fabricated, High-Clearance Bump Stop Drop to keep the springs clear from contacting the factory bump stop.
The E-Venture system has been optimized to run with a Carli Torsion Sway Bar; this is highly recommended as it lightens the most commonly neglected spring rate – the factory sway bar. From the Torsion Sway bar upgrade, one can expect a far more compliant feel and increased articulation with only slightly more body roll.
The rear should be optioned with the replacement Full Progressive Spring Pack (reduces capacity to a “light” 3/4-ton) for optimal performance.
WHEEL AND TIRE
Factory Wheels SHOULD NOT be run with oversized tires. They’re known to rub the radius arm, sway bar and most concerning – Brake Lines. Factory tires and factory wheels will work without issue but it is not recommended running oversized tires on factory wheels. For this kit, Carli recommends 17”-18” wheels, no more than 9” wide with 5.5” of backspacing with Carli Fabricated Radius Arms or 5” Backspace with factory arms; 5” will require a bit more trimming. Tires, 37×12.5” will fit with some trimming; 35” will likely fit without trimming. The more rubber, the better the small bump compliance will be at proper inflation pressures. The ride will firm up as you go larger in wheel diameter.
OPTIONAL UPGRADES:
LEAF SPRING SHACKLE
Factory rear shackles are strong but can make the ride stiff and bouncy. Carli’s shackles are made from thick steel and have serviceable bushings that let the rear suspension move smoothly, reduce axle wrap and wheel hop. Made from strong 1/4" steel, greasable and rebuildable for long life, provides a far better ride than the factory shackle, and fits both factory and Carli springs
LONG TRAVEL AIRBAGS
Long Travel Airbags let you carry heavy loads or tow without losing the smooth ride. They support the rear suspension, reduce sag under weight, and keep the ride comfortable while maintaining proper suspension travel for off-road or daily driving.
CARRIER BEARING DROP
The Carrier Bearing Drop lowers the driveshaft carrier to prevent vibration and keep your rear suspension running smoothly on lifted trucks. Carrier Bearing Drop lowers the carrier on 2-piece driveshafts to prevent take-off shudder and driveline vibration, and includes stackable 3/8" shims to accommodate 1"-4" of rear lift.
ADJUSTABLE RADIUS ARM
Fully boxed construction, these Carli radius arms correct 0.5°-2.5° of caster at the axle mount ensuring ANY Carli customer can achieve death-wobble-preventing positive caster.
PINION SHIM
When modifying the rear leaf springs there's a small chance you'll induce a driveline vibration around 70mph when under power from the rear driveline. These pinion shims will correct the angle to 4°-5°, ideal for our lifted applications. Although these will not be "required" on every truck, we've found the 4°-5° spec to be superior in our applications and these are FAR easier to install initially than correctively.
HIGH MOUNT STEERING STABILIZER
Installs up and out of the way with the provided frame hardware and Drag-Link Bracket. A higher nitrogen charge pushes to the left to counter-act a Right Hand Tire Pull. Combine with a Carli Low-Mount for a true, infinitely adjustable stabilization system for optimal damping with any tire.

Good for acne prone sensitive skin

I am in my 30s with combo leaning oil and acne prone fair skin with pigmentation issues and I’m on prescription tretinoin every day. I sometimes use hydroquinone when my pigmentation issues flare up. I wear sunscreen every single day to protect my skin. It’s especially important since I’m on Tret. daily. Being that I have acne prone skin finding a sunscreen has always been a HUGE challenge for me. I’ve spent so much time on SkinSort and similar sites looking through sunscreen ingredients lists trying to find ones that won’t break me out. I’ve purchased PLENTY of k-beauty, j-beauty, EU sunscreens and Us sunscreens from Sephora and drugstore only for them to break me out. My skin is very sensitive/breakout prone to long ingredients lists, emollients, heavy textures, oils and lots of botanicals. I randomly stumbled upon this banana boat sunscreen here on Amazon and saw the short and fairly simple ingredient list that is low (not free of- but low) in occlusive ingredients in comparison to other sunscreens so I decided to order it. It has not broken me out and it feels nice. No alcohol in it, no irritation, no pimples so far. The tube is user friendly, the texture is light and pleasant and the sunscreen is affordable and accessible. I also appreciate how it’s water resistant so can be worn every day OR pool/beach. I highly recommend this to anyone with acne prone or sensitive skin if you are ok with US chemical sunscreens. I prefer chemical sunscreens over mineral sunscreens as mineral sunscreens break me out. This affordable banana boat in my opinion is WAY better for me personally than high end and expensive options that have tons of pore clogging ingredients. Yes even the popular k-beauty sunscreens break me out unfortunately. Everyone is different and anything has a potential to clog someone but for me this sunscreen is way more safe for my acne prone skin than any other sunscreen option I’ve come across. The majority of sunscreens are just packed with pore cloggers, but this banana boat one is minimal in comparison. The tube is travel size (tsa approved) but bigger than your standard 1.7oz sunscreen. This is nice for me because like I mentioned I wear sunscreen every single day and re-apply if I’ll be outside in the sun. While spending time outside I did not burn while wearing this sunscreen and I’m extremely fair skinned. I also did not notice any new pigmentation issues. The texture is nice, light and pleasant. It wears well under makeup. I normally wash my face in the AM, apply a hydrating kbeauty toner, tiny little dots of super light gel moisturizer (not much- I’m oily!) and then apply this banana boat sunscreen on top. Sometimes I wear makeup sometimes I don’t. It works both ways. I have not experienced any pilling. I have not noticed any scent with this sunscreen other than the sunscreen filters smell which isn’t too bad at all in comparison to other sunscreens I’ve tried. The sunscreen itself adds a touch of moisture but I don’t find it to be greasy on my oily skin. In the summer I will probably use a hydrating toner or serum (skip gel moisturizer) and then apply the banana boat sunscreen since I live in a warm climate. Anyways, this is a very nice textured non offensive not overly clogging (for me at least) Us chemical sunscreen that has been very unproblematic for me. I just apply a decent amount every AM and don’t even think about it. Like I mentioned if I’m out in direct sunlight (normally I’m not in the winter) I’ll reapply as needed. In the PM I use bioderma micellar water and then follow it with my Remedy brand face cleanser and it takes the banana boat off fine. I’m interested in trying the spray version (always spray decent amount into hand and then apply!) for my body in the summer. For now I apply this banana boat sensitive face to my face, neck, hands or whatever exposed area. If you tried the banana boat light as air face spf that one is a little more matte and dry but it’s also more pore clogging in both my experience and by ingredients lists. This banana boat sensitive has a bit of a different texture that’s lightweight and still not greasy but it’s more of a traditional light lotion. The banana boat light as air face one felt great but over time gave me more closed comedones. Needless to say I highly recommend this lightweight Us chemical sunscreen to anyone looking for a simple waterproof Us chemical sunscreen that is affordable and easy. Obviously no white cast as its chemical. Sorry for the long review but it might help someone out. Also I purchased this with my own money I am not a part of one of those product reviewing groups- whatever they are called. No shade to anyone lol.

Great

The sunscreen itself is really good. It applies smoothly just as advertised “lotion”. I was pleased to see it didn’t leave a white cast. I apply makeup over my sunscreen often. This sunscreen worked perfectly with makeup. Like it said, it’s unscented and that was true as I didn’t detect a scent. My skin feels nice with this on. My only issue is that it didn’t come with a safety seal under the cap. Usually all products come with a seal to ensure it isn’t tampered with and that buyer gets the full amount of product. That was a bit upsetting but hopefully I didn’t actually get a used one.

Super lightweight and blends right into the skin, and I don’t feel not sticky!
I got super excited and got this primarily because it’s lightweight, super affordable, SPF 50 for high protection, and it said there’s no alcohol or fragrance…heres the catch tho, there IS a slight sunscreen smell, but you only notice it when applying it and if you keeping smelling it on yourself up close during the day.
Other than that, it’s truly fragrance free in the sense that you aren’t just standing there doing your thing, and keep getting HIT with the scent of sunscreen for hours, like other sunscreens! The scent is extremely light and pleasant when you go to smell it on yourself.
Don’t EVER discontinue this please please please!!!!

It’s great! So light weight!

I have been testing this out for a month now.
I love it. This does have avobenzone in it, and because of that, I do NOT put it around my eyes as avobenzone is a chemical sunscreen ingredient that typically tends to cause the of sensation of burning eyes! At least for me it does.
I use an Australian sunscreen around my eyes that doesn’t have anything that irritates my eyes. So for the rest of my face, this stuff is great. It literally is so serum like sinks into your skin within five minutes or sooner. Now it’s not the most hydrating thing in the world so if you have a dry skin, you still wanna go in with a moisturizer before however, if you have oily skin, this is your girl right here. Skin like finish, not super matte and not dewy at all. I do not wear primer so I don’t know how it plays with that. Works great under my makeup and has never caused pilling.
Quick, easy, simple ingredients, definitely sensitive skin friendly, and no fragrance at an affordable cost-effective price! Now if only banana boat decided to go cruelty free😭
