Presenting the DBA 5000 Series XD Brake Rotors, showcasing a non-directional cross-drilled and dimpled design. The XD finish not only enhances cooling benefits beyond the HD finish but also elevates the sports aesthetics. This advanced design incorporates a mix of dimples and drilled holes, providing enhanced structural support compared to traditional cross-drilled techniques, underscoring DBA's commitment to cutting-edge technology. The rotors feature two-piece direct replacement construction with CBN machine-turned finishes and a high carbon alloy composition.
Taking performance to new heights, DBA's Kangaroo Paw ventilation system delivers a remarkable 30% increase in surface area and a 20% improvement in cooling efficiency compared to conventional straight vane designs. Moreover, these rotors are equipped with Thermographic heat paint markings, transitioning in color at specific temperature thresholds. This visual cue allows for monitoring braking temperatures and assessing rotor fatigue, ensuring precision performance.
The integration of aerospace-grade aluminum not only reduces unsprung weight but also facilitates uniform radial disc expansion within the cast iron rings. Additionally, it acts as a heat barrier, preventing heat transfer from the disc to the hub through the aluminum hats. The high carbon cast iron rings seamlessly integrate with Aluma-lite center hats/bells, securely fastened together using National Aerospace Standards (NAS) bolts and crimp nuts. While the DBA 5000 Series XD represents an overall improvement over the 5000 Series HD rotors, it is worth noting that XD drilled rotor configurations are not typically recommended for heavy street or track use.
