How do I use the kit?

This Nutscene Potters' Pal, make your own seedling pots kit is easy to use, environmentally conscious and pretty fun too. It allows you to turn waste paper such as used newspapers or magazine sheets into little seedling pots that you can use to grow and transplant tiny seedlings (saving you money and time at the garden centre).

In these few simple steps you can turn a humble piece of used paper into a wonderful home for a tiny plant:

You'll need:

• Scissors
• Pen or pencil
• Ruler
• Newspaper or similar used paper
• Your potters pal kit

Steps:

• Measure out an area of 8-13cm x 57cm from your paper (depending on how tall you want your pot to be). Mark these measurements.
• Cut out the measured rectangle
• Now you have your strip of paper, wrap the strip around the Potter's Pal, then fold over the excess paper.
• Push the 'Pal' firmly into the base, make sure to give it a twist.
• Voila you have your little paper pot!

Make sure you fill it with a high quality peat-free compost such as our organic sheep wool compost, or even our specialist seedling compost- they contain gallons of nitrates and other nutrients, perfect for growing strong and healthy seedlings.
