Secure Your Solar Panels with Exotronic ABS Plastic Corner and Mid Brackets

Engineered for Vehicle-Mounted Solar Installations

When mounting rigid solar panels on caravans, RVs, or marine vessels, the quality of your brackets directly impacts long-term reliability. The Exotronic Black Solar Panel ABS Plastic Corner plus Mid Brackets are purpose-built to provide a robust, aerodynamic, and stress-minimised mounting solution. Unlike generic aluminium or steel brackets that can introduce galvanic corrosion or sharp edges, these high-strength ABS plastic brackets offer a lightweight, UV-resistant, and non-conductive alternative, reducing the risk of electrical faults and material degradation over time.

Designed to comply with the Australian and New Zealand standard AS5033, this kit ensures your solar installation meets stringent safety requirements for mobile applications. The dual-fixing method—combining structural adhesive with mechanical fasteners—distributes loads evenly, minimising point stresses on the panel frame and roof surface. This approach is particularly critical for vehicles subjected to vibration, wind uplift, and emergency braking forces.

Key Features

  • High-strength ABS construction – resists UV exposure, impact, and corrosion, outperforming metal brackets in coastal and humid environments
  • Aerodynamic curved profile – reduces wind drag and noise, improving fuel efficiency and driving comfort
  • Complete 6-piece kit – includes 4 corner brackets and 2 mid brackets, providing full perimeter support for panels up to large residential sizes
  • AS5033-compliant dual fixing – adhesive and screw installation minimises stress concentrations and prevents panel micro-cracking
  • Stainless steel self-tapping screws included – corrosion-resistant fasteners for long-term durability
  • Versatile mounting – suitable for glass or rigid solar panels on flat or slightly curved vehicle roofs

Why Choose ABS Plastic Brackets?

Traditional metal brackets can create thermal bridges, accelerate corrosion, and require additional insulation to prevent galvanic reactions. Our ABS plastic brackets eliminate these concerns. The material is inherently non-conductive, so there is no risk of short circuits if wiring insulation is compromised. Additionally, ABS absorbs vibration better than aluminium, reducing fatigue on both the panel and the mounting surface. For installers and DIY enthusiasts, the lightweight nature simplifies handling and alignment during installation.

Installation Best Practices

For optimal performance, clean all bonding surfaces thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol before applying a high-quality MS polymer adhesive such as Fix15 or marine-grade Sikaflex. The adhesive fills any surface irregularities and creates a flexible, waterproof bond that accommodates thermal expansion. Drill clearance holes in the brackets, fill with adhesive, and drive the provided tek screws, maintaining a small gap for the adhesive to cure fully. This method meets AS5033 requirements and significantly reduces stress on the panel frame.

Note: Roof surfaces may require reinforcement or alternative fasteners such as toggle screws to achieve the required pull-out strength per AS5033.

Applications

  • Caravan and RV solar panel mounting
  • Marine and boat solar installations
  • Camper trailers and motorhomes
  • Off-grid cabins and tiny homes with metal roofing
  • Commercial vehicle solar setups

Whether you are upgrading an existing system or installing new solar panels, the Exotronic ABS Plastic Corner and Mid Brackets provide a reliable, compliant, and long-lasting mounting solution. Their black finish integrates seamlessly with most panel frames, maintaining a clean, professional appearance.

Great book
Format: Paperback
Nice companion to the RTFM. I have been in INFOSEC for a while and I found most of the book to be somewhat generic. My feelings may not apply to everyone else though. There seems to be an idea out there that everyone in INFOSEC sits around grepping Snort logs and/or TCP dumps; this simply is not the case. As an incident first responder the job is fairly straight forward: isolate and collect the logs. Everyone has their own methods I guess. Some OS'es require you leave the system connected before collecting logs this book does not cover that aspect. Not everyone can afford a SANS course so in that respect this condensed field guide is a plus+. Simply put; you cannot afford to not have this book. A must buy.

Five Stars - Version 2 update very nice
Format: Paperback
Update - version 3.0 has soooo much more depth. Really nice update. Solid info, brief and informative, wide coverage on incident issues. Bought a second copy recently (gave away #1), have read through it, and the update does improve wording, fixes the few spelling errors someone complained about in V1, and has great packet header charts in the back. Got my copy autographed at a SANS conference to boot! I hear there are more titles in the series planned with a few underway.

Incredibly Useful. Repurchased for version 2.0
Format: Paperback
I was recommended this Handbook by an Incident Responder with over 10 years experience (whom was also recommended it within his professional network). I've been utilizing version 1.0 of this handbook for almost 3 months now and, I must say, it's the perfect field manual not only for Incident Responders but for any class of Information Security Professional. Back in college I started crafting a reference manual of my own wishing I had something like this. I'm happy to see that I wasn't the only person when I was recommended this Handbook. Initially my only wish was for it to have had reference diagrams for common packet headers. However, shortly after that I learned of version 2.0. For that reason, I immediately purchased version 2.0. Background: 3 years experience as an Information Security Analyst

Not Perfectly Pocket Size, but Sufficient
Format: Paperback
Fits in the jump bag & a zip lock to protect the pages - Crafted my own pocket flap inserts to add personal notes for my employer on large index cards (org chart by title with penciled in names, numbers & schedules); IT LAN map with details on each system in case it is needed in a jiff (except passwords - don't be stupid!) It didn't help me pass the minors, but I am a non-military female. I don't think God could have gotten me through those men who love to fail women!
