Engineered for professional server rooms, audio-visual suites, and heavy-duty IT closets, the Middle Atlantic DRK Series rackrail delivers rugged, reliable rack mounting with quick-access flexibility. This 44U rack-height pair is designed to support dense equipment deployments in standard 19" racks, offering a durable steel construction and a black finish that blends seamlessly with modern racks. Built for durability, compatibility, and easy installation, the DRK Series rackrail with cage nuts provides a secure, vibration-resistant mounting platform for servers, switches, patch panels, and other 19" equipment. If you’re upgrading a data center, a broadcast facility, or a studio control room, this rackrail delivers the stability and reliability you expect from Middle Atlantic.

  • Rugged 6mm cage nut rackrail: Heavy-gauge construction provides superior rigidity and long-term support for heavy equipment. Designed to hold up under the weight of multiple server blades, AV receivers, and network switches, minimizing flex and vibrational movement to protect sensitive gear.
  • 44U rack height: Optimized for large equipment stacks, giving you ample vertical space to organize cabling, power distribution, and front-access components. Ideal for data centers and media facilities needing substantial rack real estate without compromising accessibility.
  • 19" standard opening width: Full compatibility with virtually all industry-standard 19" rack frames. Whether you’re upgrading existing rails or deploying new gear, you can depend on a universal fit that simplifies integration and installation.
  • Black steel finish: A clean, professional appearance that resists corrosion and looks great in any rack room. The durable finish helps maintain a sleek, uniform aesthetic across your equipment rack lineup and reduces visible wear over time.
  • Sold in pairs for faster installation: Each purchase includes two rail sections, enabling symmetric installation and balanced mounting. This makes it easier to align with the rack posts and reduces setup time when configuring a multi‑rack or large‑scale installation.

How to install Middle Atlantic Rackrail, Cage Nut, 44 RU, DRK SERIES

  • Preparation: Ensure your rack frame is clean and free of debris. Confirm you have standard 19" rack mounting hardware and that the frame can accommodate 44U rails. Identify the top and bottom positions to maintain proper alignment with existing equipment.
  • Position the rails: Align the DRK Series rail sections with the rack posts at the desired depth. Use a level if needed to ensure straight alignment and avoid skewing that could complicate equipment installation or airflow.
  • Insert cage nuts: Install 6mm cage nuts into the appropriate mounting slots on the rack rails. Cage nuts provide the threaded mounting points for equipment screws and must be securely seated to prevent nut rotation or loosening during operations.
  • Attach the rails: Secure the DRK rail sections to the rack posts using the appropriate screws or hardware compatible with your rack. Tighten evenly and in a crisscross pattern if multiple attachment points are used to maintain even load distribution.
  • Mount equipment and verify: Slide your 19" equipment into place, aligning with the front rails. Secure each device with standard 19" screws, ensuring snug but not overtightened mounting to avoid damage to chassis or panels. Check for smooth sliding, rack alignment, and clearance for cable management at rear.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What does 44U mean for this rackrail?
A: 44U refers to the vertical space available on the rack for mounting equipment. It allows you to stack a large number of devices in a single rack, making it ideal for dense IT or AV installations. The DRK Series 44U rails are designed to maximize usable space while preserving accessibility for front and rear cabling.
  • Q: Are cage nuts included with the DRK Series rackrail?
A: The product is designed to use 6mm cage nuts, and the rails are sold in pairs. Cage nuts are compatible with standard 19" rack hardware and can be sourced separately if needed, depending on your setup. Always verify you have the correct cage nut assortment for your rack post style.
  • Q: Will these rails fit my existing 19" rack?
A: Yes. The DRK Series rail is built for standard 19" rack openings, which is the most common configuration in data centers and AV facilities. They are designed to be compatible with most manufacturers’ frames that conform to the 19" rack standard.
  • Q: What applications are best suited for the DRK Series 44U rails?
A: These rails are ideal for high-density server deployments, network equipment stacks, AV distribution gear, patch panels, and other front-access 19" devices. The heavy-gauge steel and secure cage-nut mounting provide a stable platform for rack-mounted equipment in environments where vibration and weight are considerations.
  • Q: How should I maintain these rails over time?
A: Regularly inspect mounting hardware for tightness, verify cage nuts remain properly seated, and check for any signs of wear or deformation after relocation or reconfiguration. Wipe surfaces with a dry or slightly damp cloth as needed to remove dust, avoiding harsh cleaners that could affect the finish.

Excellent Handbook!
Format: Paperback
This is a great book for anyone from beginner to seasoned activist. Kazu Haga breaks down Kingian Nonviolence and other justice and healing modalities in a way that makes them very accessible to a wide array of readers. I plan to give this to several elder activists - and my 14 year old niece. Haga breaks down the Six Principles of Kingian Nonviolence, Restorative Justice/Practices (RP), separates & defines four types of conflict as well as other clarifying enumerations of large concepts. As an RP practitioner, I found his handling of restorative work to be excellent, and I found the Kingian principles revelatory and beautiful. Kingian Nonviolence dispels the myth that nonviolence is passivity "Nonviolence is not about what not to do. It is about what you are going to do", and has clear steps toward justice and conflict work that have proven efficacy. Haga's handling of nuance and contradiction is unique and powerful, as well as his personal approach to understanding alternate perspectives (listening to right wing radio on regular basis - with an open mind -for instance). More than one thing can be true at the same time, we can expand to hold contradiction, and still seek accountability and healing. The clarity of why shaming and punishment doesn't work for preventing future harm, or healing harm that has occurred is present not only in the concepts in the book, but his personal experience via years of offering trainings in prisons. There is still a lot of resistance to RP and nonviolent approaches to harm - especially in Law Enforcement and Corrections, and I think the accessibility and clarity in this book are useful to help naysayers possibly see the light of why these healing and justice practices ultimately protect us all.

This is the one
Format: Paperback
If you read one book this year about how to deal with conflict, this is the one. His language is crisp, his examples simple to understand, his reasoning is easy to follow. Best of all, he interprets Dr. King's Philosophy of Nonviolence through his own, hard-won experience with organizing in Oakland, CA, Occupy Wall Street and myriad other struggles. All that experience has taught him that Dr. King was right to focus on relationship building. Kazu asks the hard questions, toughs out the answers, learns from myriad mistakes and shares his hard-won lessons with us. He also references some great resources. I gave this book 5 stars. Normally I would have awarded 4 stars, because there are some typos sprinkled throughout the book. However, I added back that star because the book is so very well-written, absolutely authentic to the Kingian Nonviolence curriculum, and urgently useful NOW. Kingian Nonviolence (not non-violence) is more useful and effective than any other strategy, for the long-term, and often for the short term as well. Let's build this world of Beloved Community. Thank you Kazu, Dr. Lafayette, and Dr. King, for giving us a head start.

The Inner Game of World Changing
Format: Kindle
This book bridges the gap between activism and spirituality, making the argument that the world will never change for the better in a lasting way without both working together. Yes, the systems of injustice must be dismantled, but it will be impossible to build new systems that work for all without the inner foundations spelled out in this book. Yes, we need to love one another, but we also need to deal with the material realities of injustice and oppression. Without the principles laid out in this book, we are left with a toxic culture of shaming and ineffectual anger on the side of the activists and a loving but disconnected-from-reality culture on the side of the spiritual while the violence-fueled industrial-growth complex goes on wreaking its destruction. If you despair of things ever changing for the better, read this book. It's THE way forward.
