Bright Aperture and Pleasing Bokeh

The bright F/2 aperture gives the user enough balance between speed and size to produce high-quality, sharp images when shooting in low light conditions, as well as giving the user more control over depth of field. The 9-blade rounded diaphragm allows the photographer to achieve large and round, smooth bokeh.

High-speed Auto Focus

The lens drives a smooth, fast and near-silent autofocus made possible by a stepping motor – beneficial for fluent video footage and enhanced audio. Switch instantly between AF and MF with the Focus Mode Switch. The lens also supports Face/Eye Detection AF and video AF. The Aperture Ring is also designed to allow users to work intuitively.

The L-mount lens supports Linear focus/non-linear focus for focus movement method preference.

Optimum Image Quality

The optical construction consists of 12 elements in 9 groups, including one SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass and two aspherical lenses. The elements have been strategically arranged to ensure aberrations such as chromatic, comatic and spherical are significantly reduced for optimum image quality.

SIGMA’s Super Multi-Layer Coating has been incorporated to minimise ghosting and flare when working with strong light sources such as back lighting. This ensures photographers can consistently produce sharp, high-contrast images across the frame.

Durable Build

As part of SIGMAs Contemporary line, this lens is compact, portable and durable. Rubber sealing has been placed on the lens mount to protect it from dust and water drops – ensuring you can shoot outdoors confidently. The brass bayonet mount contributes to the overall durability and robustness of the lens.
