LP version. Dennis Young is best-known as the marimba player/percussionist for the legendary early '80s NYC band Liquid Liquid. Reel to Real is a lovingly-assembled archive collection of his rare and unreleased solo recordings from 1982-1983. Dennis Young: "Back in 1982 at the age of 24 I bought my first recording equipment a - two-track Teac reel-to-reel-tape recorder. I already owned a number of analog synthesizers, an electric & acoustic guitar, various effect boxes, and a full drum set. The music was recorded live over a two year period (1982-1983) when I was still playing in Liquid Liquid. I was busy with the band but I still found time at home to experiment with my own sound using various instruments and vocal effects. In early 1984, I bought my first four-track cassette machine which ended my live reel-to-reel recording phase. The tapes were boxed up and put into storage for the next 30 years. About six months ago, I was going through some old boxes and happened to find the tapes again. I was curious to hear what I had on those tapes so I purchased another Teac reel-to-reel-tape recorder. To my surprise there was a lot of music to choose from these recordings, so after hours of listening I came up with a set of songs that I thought was the best representation of my work from this period. Thanks to Staubgold, I am able to share this unique recording experience with you, the listener."

Best textbook I've ever read, LOVE GEHART
Format: eTextbook
I used another Gehart textbook in a different class and I can't say enough how much I love this author. In 6 years of academia I don't think I've actually enjoyed reading a textbook until this. She has a "needs to know" section at the beginning of each chapter so even if I haven't had time to read the entire chapter before when I need to I can read that and have some basis of understanding. She also includes information on the theorists, and even though I always skip that part I know some people really like knowing about that.
I think it is INVALUABLE that each chapter also has a sample case conceptualization and treatment plan template. AS WELL AS exploring the implications for each theory of its strength's and limitation's with working with diverse clients.
My only very minor complaint is the Questions for Personal Reflection and Class Discussion. For several of the chapters it really seems like this was written by someone who hadn't even read the chapter because there were questions asking about something that was very minor or barely mentioned in the chapter.

one of the most helpful counseling books I've found
using this in my master's level counseling class and it's a great resource. I appreciate the way it is written/organized/formatted. It offers some historical background to the theory, describes the theoretical concepts and framework, gives a case example, a sort of worksheet/guide for applying it in practice, and cultural considerations for each chapter/theory.

Great w/ADHD
Format: Paperback
This book was highly recommended to me as graduate intern because I struggle to stay focused. This is an easy “get what you need” book of various modalities and provides you the ability to learn enough about the modalities in addition to applying the modality quick reference format.
Would highly recommend for anyone that gets extremely overwhelmed learning modalities.

I wish I had bought it the first semester of school
This is the most comprehensive treatment planning book I own. I wish I had bought it in my first semester of school. Gehart is a clear and engaging writer. The clinical vignettes are true-to-life. The theoretical summaries are priceless and will save you hours of confusing cross-referencing and reading. If you are involved in psychotherapy, clinical psychology, counseling or even a humanities scholar who is interested in theories of psychology, you should have this book on your reference shelf.
