Experience enterprise-grade reliability and scalable performance with the Tyan Tempest S5372-LC server motherboard. Built around the Intel 5000V chipset and designed to support dual Xeon processors, this board delivers the processing power, memory bandwidth, and I/O throughput needed for virtualization, databases, and data-intensive workloads in a compact 12" x 10.5" form factor. The Tempest S5372-LC is engineered for dense data-center deployments, offering robust power delivery, six FBDIMM memory slots, and flexible expansion options to tailor to your enterprise needs. If you’re building a two-socket server that must balance performance, reliability, and upgradeability, this motherboard stands as a dependable foundation for your mission-critical applications.

  • Dual-processor scalability: Supports up to two Intel Xeon processors from the 5100/5100LV/5300-LV/5300(80W) families, enabling greater parallelism and higher aggregate throughput for virtualization hosts, large databases, and multi-threaded workloads. The two-socket capability allows balanced compute across CPUs, improving efficiency in multi-processor environments.
  • Six FBDIMM memory slots for ECC RAM: Six Fully Buffered DIMM slots support ECC memory to deliver higher reliability and larger memory footprints for demanding workloads. This configuration is ideal for virtualization, in-memory databases, and memory-intensive apps where data correctness and uptime are critical.
  • Intel 5000V chipset for strong I/O and bandwidth: The board centers on the Intel 5000V chipset, which provides solid PCIe expansion, memory bandwidth, and I/O throughput—key for data-center scenarios that require steady performance under heavy storage, networking, and compute loads.
  • Compact, rack-ready form factor: The 12" x 10.5" footprint is optimized for dense rack installations, offering a clean I/O layout and airflow-friendly design. This makes it suitable for 1U and 2U chassis configurations where space efficiency and cooling are critical considerations.
  • Enterprise-grade reliability and expandability: Engineered for uptime, the Tempest S5372-LC delivers robust power delivery, dependable components, and broad expansion options for storage controllers, network adapters, RAID cards, and other PCIe devices—allowing customization to meet evolving enterprise needs.

How to install Tyan Tempest S5372-LC

  • Prepare a compatible server chassis and power supply. Verify clearance for a two-socket motherboard and ensure adequate airflow for cooling. Ground yourself to prevent static discharge before handling the board.
  • Install the Socket J LGA-771 CPUs into their respective sockets, following the heatsink mounting guidelines. Apply thermal interface material as recommended by the CPU cooler manufacturer and secure the heatsinks to ensure proper contact and cooling efficiency.
  • Insert six FBDIMM memory modules into the FBDIMM slots, populating supported channels for optimal memory bandwidth. Ensure memory is seated fully and check BIOS memory configuration settings to enable ECC and correct interleaving as required by the server BIOS.
  • Mount the Tempest S5372-LC into the chassis tray, align I/O shield, and connect power and ground cables. Attach required backplane connectors, power connectors, and any chassis sensors. Confirm that fans and VRMs receive proper power and are oriented for optimal cooling airflow.
  • Install PCIe expansion cards, RAID controllers, NICs, and other I/O devices in the appropriate PCIe slots. Ensure cards are seated firmly and do not obstruct airflow. Double-check that any required riser cards or backplane interfaces are correctly oriented for your chassis.
  • Connect all data cables, including storage backplanes, SAS/SATA controllers, and network connections as dictated by your deployment. Secure cable routing to minimize obstruction of fans and to promote efficient cooling.
  • Power up the system and enter the BIOS/UEFI. Update to the latest firmware if available, configure CPU and memory settings for your workload, set boot devices, and enable any enterprise features such as virtualization support or hardware RAID as needed.
  • Install your operating system or hypervisor. After installation, apply all relevant drivers and firmware updates for the motherboard, chipset, and expansion cards to ensure compatibility and performance.
  • Perform a POST test, verify hardware health, and run baseline benchmarking and stress tests to confirm stability under your expected workload. Schedule regular firmware and driver updates to maintain performance and security over time.

Wow it's smooth, soft, not overly scented
Scent: Hair Styler (1 Pack)
I rarely try new hair products. I use Aveda sculpting clay and when I tell most stylists this they simply stop trying to sell me their sponsored hair product since they know how good Aveda is. I've never seen a product as smooth as this; it feels like hand lotion and goes in super easy and has a nice hold with really minimal residue. Feels great to put hand through hair after putting this in. This stuff is really different - I'm a fan!

Not bad but read my full review if you are experimenting with different brands
Scent: Hair Styler (1 Pack)
So I am middle of the road on this product. First, I love the products from this brand and use some of their other products quite regularly. I was on a search for an alternative to the Crew Forming Cream (which I have used for maybe 20 years) and decided to purchase this product by Huron as well as the much cheaper medium hold styling cream by Cremo. All three are great products but you will need to decide for yourself how much hold you need as I have discovered that each are quite different and really shouldn't be compared to one another. I will say that if I had to put them all into two categories then Crew is heavy hold and Huron and Cremo is medium / light hold. I must admit that I was skeptical that the cheaper of the three, Cremo, would win me over but it has. For the record it has a very subtle scent (hardly noticable), just enough hold and does not leave you feeling like you have product in your hair. This is similar to Huron as well (although Huron is a very creamy in texture and you can tell its a higher quality product) but at the end of the day all that matters is great hold from a product that is affordable and does not leave a sticky texture in your hair. Cremo wins hands down. As for Crew, well it was a good ride but too expensive and way too heavy...time to move on.

So lightweight. Perfect for extra thick hair.
Scent: Hair Styler (1 Pack)
Its almost mousse like in how light weight it is and smells fantastic. I wanted something just above light weight hold and not weigh my thick hair down and this does a great job. A little pricey but SO much better than the usual store brands out there. And my wife is totally in love with how great it smells when I put it on, so bonus!
