The HPE PM1733 is engineered for enterprises that demand dependable, high-performance storage for read-heavy workloads. With a generous 7.68 TB capacity and a 2.5-inch U.3 form factor, this NVMe SSD is designed to deliver fast data access, lower latency, and steady throughput across demanding environments. The Read Intensive (RI) class targets workflows where reads dominate and response time matters, making it ideal for read caching, social media content delivery, bulk storage, email hosting, and boot/swap operations. Built on a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface, the PM1733 leverages the speed of NVMe to maximize IOPS, reduce queuing, and improve application and service responsiveness in data centers, cloud deployments, and edge environments. Whether you’re optimizing a server fleet for real-time analytics, virtualization, or high-traffic web workloads, this drive is poised to accelerate data access while maintaining reliability and efficiency that IT teams expect from HPE.

  • High-performance NVMe PCIe Gen4 x4 architecture: The PM1733 delivers the speed and responsiveness required for modern read-intensive workloads, offering high IOPS and low latency to accelerate data access across enterprise applications, virtualization hosts, and caching layers. Its PCIe Gen4 x4 interface provides a wide data channel for rapid transfers, enabling faster boot times, quicker application startups, and smoother streaming of read-heavy content.
  • Read-Intensive design for key workloads: Specifically optimized for read-dominant scenarios, this SSD is well-suited for read caching, content delivery, social media data access, bulk storage retrieval, and email services. By prioritizing read efficiency, it helps reduce bottlenecks in data paths and improves user-facing performance where reads are the main operation.
  • Massive capacity in a compact 2.5" U.3 form factor: The PM1733 packs 7.68 TB of solid-state storage into a standard 2.5-inch drive footprint with U.3 (SFF-8639) connectivity. This combination enables high-density expansion in traditional rack servers and modern data center backplanes, facilitating scalable storage pools without sacrificing space or cabling simplicity.
  • Enterprise reliability and efficiency: Built for continuous operation in data centers, the PM1733 combines dependable performance with efficiency that helps lower total cost of ownership. The drive is engineered to maintain steady throughput under demanding loads while managing power consumption, cooling, and thermal behavior to support long-term service levels and predictable performance.
  • Seamless integration with standard HPE and data-center environments: The PM1733 is designed to fit into existing enterprise servers and backplanes that support 2.5" U.3 NVMe drives. Its compatibility with PCIe Gen4 architectures makes it a natural fit for modern HPE and non-HPE servers that require a robust read-optimized NVMe SSD, enabling straightforward deployment for caching, storage expansion, or boot/end-user data paths.

how to install HPE PM1733

  • Prepare the server or storage chassis: power down completely, unplug power, and follow your data-center safety guidelines. Ensure the system supports 2.5" U.3 NVMe drives and has an available drive bay or hot-swap backplane slot compatible with PCIe NVMe devices.
  • Power down components and open the chassis to access the drive bays. Identify an available U.3 slot or drive bay configured for NVMe 2.5" devices and confirm backplane compatibility with PCIe Gen4 x4 signaling.
  • Insert the PM1733 into the appropriate drive tray or backplane, aligning connectors and seating the drive firmly. Secure the drive with screws or latching mechanisms as required by your chassis design.
  • Reconnect any backplane cables or hot-swap connectors. Close the chassis, reconnect power, and boot the server. Enter the system BIOS/UEFI or enterprise management console to verify the drive is detected and recognized as a 7.68 TB NVMe device.
  • In the operating system, initialize the new NVMe drive as needed (partition, format, and assign a mount point or install OS components if this drive will serve as a boot or cache tier). If using as a cache or tiered storage, configure the caching software or storage pool accordingly, following your OS and storage controller guidelines.
  • Update firmware if available and apply any vendor-recommended NVMe optimization settings. Run a quick health check and performance test to confirm the drive operates within expected parameters under your workload. Document the deployment for ongoing maintenance and monitoring.

Great & very convenient charger, only one issue
Color: 2Black
This charger wound up being everything I hoped for - it charges a Galaxy S26 fast and works with a wireless charger compatible phone case. Despite all this, I'm taking a star off for the fact that *you have to buy an aftermarket converter* for it, because for some ridiculous reason, its cable end isn't a USB type A (which your previous phone's converters and probably many of your home's outlets use), but requires a 30W (no less) USB-C. So, there goes another $10 for the converter. Actually you'll probably want to buy two, for at least two rooms at your home, so there goes another $20.

Absolute trash.
Color: 2White
Neither charger worked on arrival... Quite disappointed. Now I'm steering away from every item that has the same markings. Just shelling out for a better quality charger... Not worth it at all... It's incredibly irritating having 2 DoA chargers... Tried on 5 different phones and 10 different blocks.

Charges slowly and makes phone/charger really hot.
Color: 2White
I thought these would be great, but they aren't. I use them with a 25w charging block, but they charger my iPhone so slowly! I can't really use the phone for any games or even scrolling TikTok while the charger is on it because the phone uses power faster than these mag-chargers can charge the phone. The phone also overheats when this charger is on it. Never had that problem with a lightning charger. Basically these are only good when you won't be using the phone, and it takes a long time. Not very happy with them.
