About the Works
Begin Again Exhibition.

Sir Edmund Percival Hillary (July 20, 1919 – January 11, 2008) was a New Zealand climber and philanthropist. Along with Tenzing Norgay, Hillary was one of the first two people to reach the summit of the world's highest mountain, Everest (8,848 meters), on May 29, 1953.

Following his ascent of Everest he devoted himself to assisting the Sherpa people of Nepal through the Himalayan Trust, which he established in 1960 and led until his death in 2008. His efforts are credited with the construction of many schools and hospitals in this remote region of the Himalayas.

Knighted by Queen Elizabeth II, Sir Edmund became both an international celebrity and a local hero.

For more than 15 years Brad Novak (aka New Blood Pop) has been placing meaningful quotes into his paintings. Through well-known sayings, or self-composed phrases, he is commenting on the trials and tribulations of living life whilst growing into your own skin.
There are several quotes that have profound meaning (to him personally) that he still utilises to this day. None more so than ‘Begin Again’ which comes from the oeuvre of a celebrated American poet:
“You may do this, I tell you, it is permitted. Begin again the story of your life.”
- Jane Hirshfield
This quote references Novak’s pivotal exposure to the creative world after a visit to the Tate Modern in London whilst on his OE at the turn of the century. That lightning-strike-type-event sparked his desire to become an artist… from that day onwards he was creatively and intentionally ‘beginning again’ so to speak.
There is also a connection to the perennial challenge of creating. Each time an artist faces an empty canvas, or board, they must choose to begin again. And more generally, each day we wake up we are quite literally recommencing our lives. Philosophically, Novak believes we have more power than we realise. And that even in each small moment of our lives we have the power to choose a new path. But he is the first to acknowledge that this is often easier said than done!
Novak’s latest solo show - Begin Again - is a culmination of him choosing repeatedly to start, to persevere, to find meaning in the work… and he ‘never’ plans to stop.

Artist Brad Novak (aka New Blood Pop) is known for drawing on his life passions and experiences in the work that he creates.

Quit working after 30 days
Color: Black
This can opener worked fine for the first couple of weeks. It stopped working several days ago and even though I had recharged it, it would not turn on. I thought I would give it another try before I threw it away since I was past the refund period so I could not return it. I made 100% sure that it was plugged in securely and it did charge and worked today. Make sure that it is plugged in securely when charging. Hopefully it will continue to work and if not I will update my review.

USB Rechargeable Electric Can Opener
Color: Black
Item review update! Disregard my first review since then I realized that I didn't have the usb cable pushed in far enough for a connection which stopped the item from charging and that's why it stopped working. Item works as described, clean cut, easy to use and really worth the cost. I definitely recommend.

Very Easy to Use, no stress on your hands
Color: Black
I am 76 and my hands don’t grip the way they used to. Too hard using a manual can opener. This one definitely fits the bill, plus I like the rechargeable feature!
