artist biography
Allan Albion (Eriksson) Erwö was born April 13, 1921 in Malmö. He was a Swedish painter and print maker.

Erwö was initially self taught as an artist and in 1942 at the age of 21 he was admitted to the Skåne Art Association's autumn exhibition in Malmö. He later  began formal art study at the Skänska Malarskolan in Malmö under Tage Hansson from 1947 to 1948 and at the Kunstakademi (Royal Art Academy of Arts) in Copenhagen under Krasten Iversen from 1950 to 1952. He undertook study trips to Paris, the south of France and to Spain.

His first solo exhibition took place in Krognoshuset, Konstföreningen Aura, in Lund in 1949, with a follow-up solo exhibition the following year in Kristianstad. Other solo shows include ones at Malmö City Hall, Lilla Konstsalongen, Malmö, and Limhamns Konstförening. He regularly showed his work in group exhibitions organised by the Skänes konstförening (Skänes Art Association) and the art associations in Kristianstad, Ängelholm and Klippan, the Stockholms salong shows at Liljevalchs, Helsingborgs Konstförening and Landskrona Museum. He initially painted stylised landscapes, alongside formal figure studies and still lifes. Toward the end of the 1950s he gradually transitioned into a more abstract style, often depicting abstractions created by shadows and reflections in space.

Erwö's studio was located for almost 50 years on S: t Knuts Torg 6b in Malmö. The attic studio had already been planned as an artist's studio when the building was built in 1928. It consisted of a large studio room with two flanking deep niches, accentuated by a striking skylight-vaulted ceiling. The studio was previously a workplace for Malmö artists Richard Björklund and then Karl Enock Ohlsson (whom Erwö took over the contract from in 1957). Beginning in 1952, he and his wife Ella Henrietta, acquired a plot of land overlooking the Kattegat, where they built a residential house and studio designed by Erwö for their own use and used over summers.

Erwö was very involved in the art scene throughout his life. He was active in the KRO - Konstnärernas Riksorganisation (Artists National Organisation), the Skånska Konstnärsklubben (Skåne Artists' Club) and in the SKYS-Galleriet on Stortorget in Malmö. He was also involved in the construction phase of the Artists' Collective Workshop in Malmö, where he became the foundation's chairman in 1971. In 1954 he was awarded Ellen Trotzig's art scholarship and this was followed by a number of different artist scholarships over the years.

Erwö is represented in public collections including works held at Malmö Museum, Statens Konstråd (Swedish National Arts Council), Helsingborgs Museum, Motala Stads samlingar, Landskrona Museum and Kristianstads Museum.

He passed away at the age of 86 on July 25, 2007.

Great dog balls at a great price
Size: Medium
The balls are a favorite for my dog. I could have done without the hole through the middle because I don't do treats in balls anyway. My dog loves balls for their own merit. I needed replacement balls for my Nerf Dog Ball launcher. It seems the originals have disappeared from the market. I took a chance because the price is right and this Chuck-it ball works very well so we're liking this ball a lot. So far my Dachsund, who can destroy a tennis ball (the kind they are selling as Nerf Dog replacements) in 3 minutes has not done any damage to this one so that's a win. I recommend this as a much better ball than the fuzzy tennis balls. I like the colors too since many dog toys are green (which gets lost in the lawn, etc.) or red (even though dogs have red/green color blindness. Blue and orange are good and pretty easy to find. I liked these well enough that this set was my second purchase so I will have spares in case the others are lost.

My Baby loves his new baby!
Size: Medium, Size: Medium
Finally! A ball my 107 lb. pitty/pointer mix can’t destroy. He has torn up every single “indestructible” toy in a day or so until now. He peels fabric and fur off non-rubber toys. He is a 4-legged shredder. I’ve added pictures of him for a size reference of my dog versus this product. I know I had wanted that when shopping for this item. This ball is now his beloved “baby.” He goes absolutely insane looking for it, chewing it, chasing it, and even sleeping with it. He won’t rest unless he knows exactly where it is. It is his only toy, and he is good with that. After getting this home, I tried giving him other choices, but he won’t touch them. I was worried that he would rip it apart by putting his teeth in the holes, but so far, not a scratch. It is soft enough to collapse just enough to keep it from cracking when his jaws crush it but not so soft that he can rip it to sheds. The holes are large enough to prevent a suction or vacuum effect on his tongue or mouth. For his size jaws, it is a perfect fit. Other dogs might have problems with suction or be able to get their teeth in those holes and rip it apart. Who knows? The older version of the Chuckit squeaky ball was his favorite for the year and a half he had it, but the way they make them now, he peels off the orange triangle in hours flat, the squeaker falls out (choking hazard), and then he rips it apart. I’m going to stock up on these. I can’t imagine how crazy he will be if they ever stop production or change the materials.

Great toy
Color: Blue
Great toy, too bad my Shih Tzu is afraid of it. I love the way the movement is subtle and random.

I wouldn’t recommend this for strong chewers.
Color: Orange, Color: Orange
Is it fun? Sure. Was it easy to charge and set up? Yep. That being said, this toy kind of fell flat for me. It really didn’t do any big movements once charged that I expected it to, so that was a bummer. I initially got it for my dog, but my cats were more interested in this than my dog was. The battery does seem to last a long time and the motor is pretty quiet. I WOULD NOT recommend this toy for strong chewers as the material for this is a foam rubber and I don’t think it’s durable enough for strong chewers. While the material makes this ball extremely lightweight for more movement, a strong chewer would have this disintegrated in five minutes flat. My Dog is a super strong chewer. I don’t think I would feel comfortable leaving him unattended with this because I know he would destroy it.
