ABOUT THE ITEM
This magnificent, natural quahog pearl measures 11.30 x 8.35mm and weighs 5.94 carats. It's a beautiful dark purple hue. It has normal discoloration at the top of the drop-shaped pearl which can easily be covered by a gold or platinum cap.
Quahog pearls (pronounced KO-hog) are extremely rare organic gems produced naturally by the bivalve clam, Venus mercenaria or Mercenaria mercenaria.
Quahog pearls are found by fishermen off the eastern coast of the United States, typically in the New England region, where clams are harvested for their delicious meat for use in popular dishes such as clam chowder. It is estimated that only 1 out of every 100,000 quahog clams will produce a pearl of any kind and the majority of them are not attractive enough to be used in jewelry. Purple and lavender are considered to be the most valuable shades of quahog pearls.
Famous Quahog Pearls:
In 2005, a Rhode Island jeweler named Alan Golash purchased a brooch from an antique store for $14, that was believed to be costume jewelry. This brooch turned out to be a Georgian Era enameled high karat gold brooch, circa 1835, set with one of the world's largest, and finest quality, quahog pearls along with an additional quahog pearl dangle. The brooch was later named The Golash Brooch after its discoverer. The large, center pearl was named Pearl of Venus by Golash.
In 2015, a 6-plus carat lavender Quahog pearl was found by a policeman while eating a seafood soup. This pearl received national media attention and wound up selling at Kaminski Auctions for $16,500.00.

FANTASTIC!!
Our dog Tigger has LOTS of energy. 😅 Even with my husband taking him to run alongside his bike around the block three times the other day, Tigger wasn’t even panting by the end. 🤣 I was talking to a new friend who mentioned more mental stimulation could help. Last Tuesday evening, he learned “give paw” within about 15 minutes. Hmm he’s a SMART pup. 🤔 Bonus…teaching him that seemed to really tire him out.
From that point, I looked up dog mental stimulation toys here on Amazon and bought three puzzle feeders—this one is one of them. They’ve been amazing!! Tigger has been slowly catching onto how to get the food, which stops him from eating so dang fast AND also exercises his canine brain.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I HIGHLY recommend something like this if you have dogs that have boundless energy or just seem like no amount of exercising helps calm them down.

Great for busy pups and smart dogs!
This keeps my puppy blue heeler busy and happy. Easy to fill and wash. I put her puppy food in it and put it in her crate to play with. The kibble fits perfectly in each little hiding place. After a month of fun it has not broken or malfunctioned.

Easy, fun puzzle
My dog really enjoys this puzzle. It is a pretty easy puzzle for her. The only issue is that the tiles on one side does not slide easily like the other side. The first one I received was so hard to move, that I returned it for a replacement. The second one is better but still has the same issue. Other than that, it is made well. The size of the puzzle works well for my 5 lb dog.
