Discover the HPE 7500 48-port 1000BASE-T SE Module, a high-density Gigabit Ethernet expansion designed to empower the HP 7500 Switch Expansion Module with scalable, reliable access-layer connectivity. This 48-port SE (Server Ethernet) module delivers robust 1000BASE-T performance across copper twisted-pair cabling, making it an ideal upgrade for growing networks in data centers and large campuses. Built to integrate seamlessly with the HP 7500 ecosystem, it provides a straightforward path to higher port density, improved traffic distribution, and enhanced network versatility without demanding a complete switch replacement. Whether you’re expanding for future growth or consolidating access-layer devices, the 48-port SE module enables efficient, cost-effective growth while preserving your existing cabling investments and management workflows.

  • High-density 48-port 1000BASE-T copper module. Delivers 48 independent Gigabit Ethernet connections in a compact expansion module, maximizing port density within your HP 7500 chassis.
  • Gigabit performance per port. Each RJ-45 port operates at up to 1 Gbps in full-duplex mode, providing fast, predictable bandwidth for workstations, servers, storage devices, and edge devices.
  • HP 7500 Switch Expansion Module compatibility. Specifically built to fit the HP 7500 family, ensuring a smooth upgrade path and reliable interoperability with your existing fabric.
  • Auto-negotiation and auto-MDIX for simple deployments. Ports automatically configure speed, duplex, and polarity, allowing you to deploy with standard copper cables without manual tuning.
  • Enterprise-grade reliability for critical networks. Engineered for durability and long-term performance in data centers and large-scale networks, backed by HP/HPE support and service options.

How to install HPE 7500 48-port 1000BASE-T SE Module

  • Power considerations: Confirm your switch chassis supports expansion-module hot-swapping and follow your maintenance procedures. If hot-swapping is supported, you can minimize downtime during installation.
  • Identify an available expansion slot in the HP 7500 Switch Expansion Module and remove any blanking plate or cover from that slot.
  • Orient the SE module correctly and slide it into the expansion slot until it seats firmly. Ensure the module is fully inserted and secured with any latching mechanism provided by the chassis.
  • Power up the chassis (if required) and verify the SE module activity via the status LEDs on the module and the chassis management interface. Look for normal link status on the 48 ports.
  • Configure network settings as needed in your management interface. Assign VLANs, apply basic QoS policies if required, and verify connectivity from endpoints to ensure proper operation of the new density.

Frequently asked questions

  • Q: What is the HPE 7500 48-port 1000BASE-T SE Module used for? A: It adds high-density Gigabit Ethernet access ports to the HP 7500 Switch Expansion Module, enabling scalable, reliable connectivity for edge devices, servers, and workstations within a data center or campus network.
  • Q: Is the module hot-swappable? A: Yes. The module is designed to be hot-swappable within compatible HP 7500 chassis, allowing installation or replacement with minimal downtime when your infrastructure supports hot-swapping.
  • Q: What type of cables should I use? A: Use standard copper twisted-pair cables with RJ-45 connectors (Category 5e or Category 6 recommended) to connect devices to the 48 ports. Each port supports up to 1 Gbps in full duplex, with a typical distance of up to 100 meters per port.
  • Q: What is the theoretical maximum throughput of the module? A: The module supports up to 1 Gbps per port, so the theoretical maximum aggregate bandwidth across all 48 ports is up to 48 Gbps, depending on traffic patterns and switch fabric constraints.

A Beta Worth Rooting For
Format: Kindle
In Spare, Violet Fox flips the omegaverse on its head, giving us a Beta heroine determined to make her mark. Joining the Beta Trials to support her sick father, she's thrown into a pack that doesn't want her, especially the possessive Alphas. But here's the twist: their sweet Omega turns out to be her scent match. Cue the angst, forbidden tension, and a slow-burn romance that will make your heart ache in the best way. Violet Fox delivers an emotional, refreshing take on the genre, proving Betas aren't "spares." They're stars.

Beta, Alpha, Omega oh my!
Format: Kindle
Omegas are precious and given to Alphas & their packs... but the Betas want in too. To this end, the Beta government is rolling out its trial of assigning a Beta to each Alpha-Omega pack. But forcing a Beta into a pack where they are not wanted will not end well... Of course, no one expected the Omega to fall for the assigned Beta. Great read and cliffhanger

A familiar story, just with…..less.
Format: Kindle
So, as other reviewers make clear, this is very similar to Pack Darling and The Beta. It’s much closer aligned with The Beta, in plot and maybe more like Pack Darling with characters. That being said, I don’t hate this…..but it wasn’t great either. It’s both books mentioned but just….less. Less angst, less emotion, less feeling. The plot feels very half fleshed out, and the “bad guy” feels underwhelming. I didn’t really feel any real emotions from and of the male leads, except maybe Oliver. The others fell sorta flat for me. And Mika makes herself out to be this big bad ass straight outta training and then we never see it from here again with the one fitting room incident as the exception. SPOILER: The whole, “Oh, I’m actually probably an Omega, but I don’t wanna be but I do actually wanna be but no one can ever know my secret that I do nothing to hide “ thing fell so flat. She never commutes to believing she was secretly an omega, but also mentions her “secret” a lot. It just felt so manufactured. I’m intrigued enough to read part 2 and see how the author closes everything out, but this is not one I’ll recommend or ever come back to.

Good start to a series
Format: Kindle
I delayed reading the series for reasons I don’t remember. But my TBR list is huge so I thought I’d take a shot of this and I was pleasantly surprised. I didn’t think the blurb about it was anything special. But it was a very good book. It took some interesting twists and turns. I am so glad the second book is already out. Because I would not have waited patiently. Very slow burn but good storyline. 🔥🔥/5

A good read
Format: Kindle
Multiple points of view. 3 Alpha men and an Omega male. She is a Beta in training for a new program placing betas in Alpha/Omega packs. Mila is only doing the program for the money to take care of her dad. She wasn't expecting to fall for a pack but when she sees this packs Omega she is done for. There is just something about him. His Alphas are good looking as well. Too bad she is hiding a secret and their government is acting shady. I liked it and can't wait to see where their story goes.
