Mach Force XP 409 SS Cat-Back Exhaust System with Single Side Exit (49-44072-B) by aFe. Exhaust System Type: Cat-Back. Exhaust Tubing Material: 409 SS. Main Tubing Diameter: 3". Exhaust System Sound: Aggressive / Loud. Get increased exhaust flow, more horsepower and torque, improved performance and lower exhaust gas temperatures with the aFe Mach Force XP Cat-Back Exhaust System. aFe dyno tests every system for maximum gains, and constructs them from mandrel-bent stainless steel for maximum flow and long-lasting durability. This system begins at the Cat (Catalytic Converter).

A performance exhaust system is one of the most common ways of improving a vehicle's operation. The theory is simple; just reduce restriction to increase exhaust flow and you gain power. But all exhaust systems are not created equal; in reality there's more to it than just selling some sewer pipe sized tubes.

aFe tests its systems on the flow bench and the dynamometer to determine the right pipe size and muffler construction. Then they mandrel bend the pipes to ensure they maintain their shape and size throughout the entire length, to provide smooth, unrestricted airflow. Tubes that are not mandrel bent can lose up to 20% of their diameter in sharp bends. Some systems also include a straight muffler delete pipe if a more aggressive sound and maximum flow is desired. A typical aFe system will increase exhaust flow by up to 29% and lower EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature) by up to 100 , with a corresponding improvement in power and performance.

But performance is only part of the equation. A quality exhaust system should be easy to install and made to last. The muffler and all pipes of the Mach Force XP system are constructed from durable 409 stainless steel. To ensure a tight seal, slotted and swedged ends are used whenever possible. When used with the supplied premium quality band clamps, the tightest, leak-free seal is the result. Every hanger is thoroughly welded on each side to ensure a strong attachment and the hangers also feature swaged bayonet ends to lock in place once installed.

aFe (Advanced Flow Engineering, Inc.) manufactures performance products for late model cars, light trucks and SUVs. The company was founded in 1999 with an initial concentration on high performance air filters. Since then, the company product line has broadened to include cold air intakes, fluid filters, exhaust systems, intake manifolds, intercoolers, programmers, differential covers, transmission pans and throttle body spacers. The team of engineers, machinists, production and sales people at aFe have many years of experience in their respective positions, and together work to ensure they produce the best automotive products on the market.

An epic naval history decades in the making
Format: Hardcover
Excellent ending to Dr. Rodger's three book series "A Naval History of Britain", with the same level of detail and interesting presentation of facts I have come to expect from reading other of his works over the years. For anyone interested in a comprehensive naval history of Britain (from which the US Navy inherited much of its tradition), I would highly recommend this series. In addition, "The Wooden World: An Anatomy of the Georgian Navy" is also quite a good read. My (incomplete, sadly) collection of Dr. Rodger's works will continue to hold a special place on my naval history shelf for easy reference in the future. I also hope Dr. Rodger's health has improved. The shipper unfortunately did not pack this book well, resulting in minor damage (mostly cosmetic - book is still entirely readable).

Answers Many Questions about Naval Developments
Format: Hardcover
The history offers a detailed and well organized account of the Royal Navy as it transitioned from sail to steam. Coverage included personalities, technology, tactics and strategy. The combination provided a complete appreciation of the dynamics at play, some unexpectedly. The details might be a bit much for a casual reader but offered plenty of avenues for research not available or compiled in one source. I look forward to the final volume, which should describe another watershed era.

Great Book with a different perspective
Format: Hardcover
This will be a short review of a very long book. I ordered the book expecting more of a history of the British Navy, but this is more of a history of Britain with respect to its navy. It is still excellent and authoritative, just different than I expected. I really appreciate a somewhat different perspective than I have found in some other books. For example, any discussion of Jackie Fisher I have read previously seemed to border on the hagiographic, whereas here he seems to get a very evenhanded appraisal. A great book, highly recommended.
