How to Install Middle Atlantic C5-FF22-2

Installing the C5-FF22-2 is a straightforward process designed to maximize equipment protection, cooling efficiency, and ease of service. Follow these steps to achieve a clean, reliable setup that scales with your needs:

1. Plan and prepare — Assess the installation space for adequate clearance around the frame to ensure proper ventilation and access for maintenance. Check that the power sources and ventilation points meet the blower’s requirements, and confirm the frame’s footprint will fit within the room layout without obstructing doors or exits.

2. Unpack and inspect — Remove packaging carefully and verify that all components are present. Look for the frame rails, mounting hardware, rear access panels, and any included leveling feet or casters. If you intend to use the Wood Kit, review the options and color match to your space.

3. Position and level the frame — Place the frame in its intended location. Use leveling feet or casters as applicable and ensure the unit sits plumb and stable. A level frame minimizes vibration and protects sensitive gear during operation and transport.

4. Install equipment — Begin mounting 19-inch equipment in the frame, distributing weight and heat load evenly across both bays to optimize airflow and cooling. Use standard 19" rack rails and follow the equipment manufacturer’s mounting guidelines. Leave ample room behind equipment for cabling and air passage to the rear panels.

5. Connect cooling and power — Route cables to the integrated blower’s power source, set the thermostat to the recommended operating range, and test airflow. Confirm that the blower runs quietly and maintains steady temperatures across the mounted gear. Ensure that the intake and exhaust paths are clear of obstructions.

6. Add the Wood Kit (optional) — If you want a furniture-grade appearance, install the Wood Kit. Choose one of the three styles and one of the many color options to align with your interior design while preserving access to equipment and ventilation. The Wood Kit is designed to integrate seamlessly with the steel frame and cooling system.

7. Final checks — Double‑check cable management, verify that all panels close properly, confirm access to equipment bays, and measure airflow with a thermometer or the rack’s internal sensors. Schedule routine maintenance to monitor temperature, dust build-up, and blower performance, ensuring the system continues to run efficiently.

It works but not so sure about the EMI/RFI noise filtering claim
Color: Black, Size: 8 Outlet, Style: Outlets Only
I only buy surge protectors that have EMI/RFI noise filtering. I have a sensitive short wave radio with a sleep timer that I use when going to sleep. It has a rechargeable battery so you can either use it plugged in or on battery power. I've always had static on the radio when it was plugged into this surge protector. Cords generally do cause interference in radios so I thought nothing of it. But it started to get really bad. So I took one of my old tripplite surge protectors with emi/rfi noise filtering and plugged the radio into that. No static or interference on the radio at all. I went to APC's website to see if this model has EMI/RFI and it looks like it does....but it sure doesn't work well on mine. I don't want to disparage APC. I have several of their surge protectors. Just bought the big P12U2 model they have and love that one. I think it just has better circuitry than this budget model. I'm using the P12U2 on my TCL 55" TV that was flickering and was glitchy turning on and off with a different surge protector from another company. Anyways, the ACP P12U2 works great and appears to have excellent noise filtering. Just wish the P12U2 had a flat plug because I bought it to use for my computer, but couldn't because I couldn't push my desk up against the wall with that straight out plug. Anyways, I've strayed. This is a good basic surge protector I suppose. Would not recommend it for sensitive electronics prone to interference. Then again, maybe I just had a bad one, who knows. APC is a great brand. All my surge protectors are either APC or TrippLite. Can't go wrong either way.

Great for multiple adapters
Color: Black, Size: 8 Outlet, Style: Outlets Only
One of the common flaws of single width strips is the inability to accommodate more than 1 adapter unless you want to waste the sockets as the adapter obstructs/covers the adjacent sockets. This one has 2 rows with sockets at 90 degrees. As such, adapters face outward and do not obstruct adjacent sockets. Well made and sturdy, typical of APC quality. Hopefully the surge protection won't be tested but gives you peace of mind to know that all plugged in devices are protected. I have it mounted under my office desk using the mounting holes at the back. Great value for the money.

A household staple
Style: Data/Line Protection - 12 ft
I use this power strip for both my computer and entertainment setup, and it has been very reliable. The seven outlets give me enough room for everything without having to use multiple strips. The cord is long enough to reach the wall easily while keeping things neat. It sits flat on the floor and does not tip over when everything is plugged in. The layout of the outlets makes it easy to plug in larger adapters without blocking others. It has already gotten a lot of use and should give me plenty more for years to come.
