The rectangle version was originally designed to be a vertically-oriented switch. This is the only aftermarket dash switch we have been able to make work in this spot, so the switch will have 1/2 of the face lit up until activated, then the entire face will light up.

In it's normal orientation, on a 3rd gen Tacoma for example, the letters will light up at the bottom with the headlights and then the icon at the top will light up when activated.

Square Pigtail Wire Guide:

Green: 12V OUT - Sends Power to Light Bar

Yellow: 12V IN - Tap into Dash Light Illumination Circuit

Red: 12V IN - Power Source

Black and White - Ground

Rectangle Pigtail Wire Guide From Left to Right:

Green: 12V IN - Power Source 

Red: 12V IN - Sends Power to Light Bar

Red: 12V IN - Tap into Dash Light Illumination Circuit

Black- Ground
