The HPE 6400 48-Port 1GbE Class 4 PoE v2 Module is a high-density expansion option designed to extend the reach and capability of HPE 6400 data networks. Delivering 48 x 1000Base-T ports in a compact form factor, this module turns a single chassis into a robust gigabit access layer capable of supporting a wide range of edge devices. It is purpose-built for enterprise networks that demand scalable, reliable connectivity, centralized power delivery for PoE devices, and simplified management across the campus or data center. The v2 release brings refined power management, improved efficiency, and streamlined integration with the rest of the HPE 6400 family, making it a smart choice for organizations seeking to grow their network footprint without sacrificing performance or control. Whether you’re expanding to accommodate more users, deploying IP phones, cameras, or wireless access points, or consolidating remote locations under a single management umbrella, this module delivers the essential 1GbE access fabric you need with PoE-enabled convenience.

  • High-density 48 x 1000Base-T Gigabit Ethernet ports: Each port delivers full-duplex copper connectivity, enabling rapid, reliable access for desktops, workstations, IP telephony, surveillance cameras, wireless access points, and other Ethernet-enabled devices. The 48-port density is ideal for edge deployments, conference rooms, and branch office expansion, providing ample headroom for user growth and device deployments without adding additional chassis.
  • Power over Ethernet (PoE) capability on supported ports: The module provides PoE power delivery to compatible devices, reducing cable clutter and the need for separate power injectors. This simplifies deployment of IP phones, Wi‑Fi access points, and surveillance devices, particularly in spaces where outlets are scarce or difficult to reach. PoE-enabled deployment can speed site rollouts and enable centralized power management within the switch.
  • Class 4 PoE support for versatile device powering: Designed to accommodate a wide range of PoE devices, Class 4 PoE enables higher power delivery per port to support more demanding endpoints while maintaining efficiency. This helps you deploy richer, feature-rich devices at the edge, such as advanced IP phones, media cameras, and environmental sensors, with reliable operation and centralized control from the switch.
  • Seamless integration with the HPE 6400 family for unified management: This module is engineered to work within the same management framework as other 6400 switches and modules. Expect consistent configuration interfaces, security policies, and monitoring tools, which simplify provisioning, policy enforcement, and troubleshooting across a multi-device campus or data center network.
  • Reliable performance for enterprise networks with scalable design: Built to handle growing user counts and higher device densities, the module supports scalable access layer expansion in data centers, campuses, and branch offices. It emphasizes dependable Gigabit throughput, predictable latency, and quiet operation, supporting ongoing business continuity and user satisfaction without requiring major infrastructure redesigns.

How to install HPE 6400 48-Port 1GbE Class 4 PoE v2 Module

Installing the HPE 6400 48-Port 1GbE Class 4 PoE v2 Module is a straightforward process designed for data center and campus environments. Before you begin, confirm that the module is compatible with your specific HPE 6400 chassis and that your firmware is up to date to ensure proper feature support and security. Start with powering down the chassis or placing it into a maintenance mode if your environment requires it. Locate the appropriate slot designed for expansion modules within the chassis, and prepare the slot by ensuring no obstructions exist and that the backplane is clear of debris. Align the module with the slot and insert it firmly until it seats securely in the chassis backplane. Secure any mounting screws or latches as dictated by your chassis model, then reassemble the chassis enclosure as needed. Power the system back on and perform a quick post-install health check: verify that the module is recognized by the management software, confirm port status for the 48 ports, and ensure PoE functionality is enabled where required. Update firmware if prompted, and begin configuring the ports for your network design. Create VLANs, apply QoS policies, and set PoE scheduling or power limits as supported by the management interface. Finally, monitor the module’s temperature, port activity, and PoE status over time to ensure stable operation and to identify any potential anomalies early.

Power Adapter Not Included
Color: Brown +Wireless
I'm initially impressed with this valet tray. I purchased two for my husband: one for his nightstand and one for his dresser, as he likes to keep things organized. We liked the idea of the wireless charging capabilities, but were a little disappointed to discover that the power adapter (wall plug) is not included with the tray. The tray includes a charging pad and a cord, but no wall plug. We don't have an extra pair in the house, so we'll have to wait until a pack arrives before we can test out the charging capabilities. That aside, the trays are a handsome set. I think 20% larger might serve us a tad better, but this will do very nicely for now. We're able to fit almost everything we need in the tray and that will leave the tables looking much tidier, even if one or two items don't quite make it in.

3 year anniversary is leather
Color: Brown +Wireless
I bought this for our third year wedding anniversary, as a gift for my husband. The 3rd year is supposed to be a gift inspired by leather. The tray is very durable and has lots of compartments. My husband uses it on his nightstand to keep things that he has in his pocket when he empties them the end of the night. The wireless charger is very convenient, although he prefers to actually plug in his phone rather than wirelessly charge it. The charger cable itself is surprisingly of great quality. The leather isn’t too bad either. Good gift for the price point.
