The day display can be set in either Japanese Kanji or English, and the quickset functions as it should. A spring-loaded clasp extender has been added, allowing it to fit wrists larger than the original 18.5 cm maximum.

The Seiko Type II line was introduced in the mid-1970s as part of Seiko’s early quartz range. These models were positioned as reliable, mid-tier options below Grand and King Quartz, but still built to a high standard for the time. They use in-house Seiko quartz movements, typically with day-date functionality and solid base metal cases. Accuracy was generally rated around ±15 seconds per month, which was competitive in that period.
