Microsorum ‘Thor’s Hammer’ is a rare and visually striking Java Fern cultivar distinguished by its thick, compact leaves and unique hammer-shaped tips. This bold leaf structure gives the plant a sculptural, almost armored appearance that stands out beautifully in both minimalist and jungle-style aquascapes.

Like other Microsorum varieties, Thor’s Hammer is a rhizome plant and should be attached to hardscape rather than planted in substrate. It is extremely hardy, tolerant of a wide range of water parameters, and thrives in low to medium light without the need for CO₂—making it suitable for beginners as well as advanced aquascapers.

Its slow to moderate growth and tough leaves make it an excellent choice for community tanks, shrimp aquariums, and setups with fish that may nibble on softer plants.

Planting & Care Tips
