In 2015 the Medical History Museum began collecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander art that depicted bush medicine and healing practices culminating in a major exhibition The art of healing: Australian Indigenous bush medicine in 2018 that toured internationally to London and Berlin. This was covered in the publication, The art of healing: Australian Indigenous bush medicine.

Cultural Medicine: The Art of Indigenous Healing reveals new works by First Nations Australians who generously share their extensive knowledge of bush medicine and healing practices. The works in this publication built on existing relationships with artists and communities.  Works have been acquired from artists and art centres from throughout Australia including works from Kaiela Arts, Shepparton, Iltja Ntjarra (Many Hands) Alice Springs, Barkley Regional Arts, Tennant Creek and
Buku-Larrnggay Mulka Centre, Yirrkala,

This publication reveals that traditional Indigenous healing is a current practice informed by the past and an intrinsic part of the life of indigenous people in Australia.

The exhibition Cultural Medicine: The Art of Indigenous Healing is a major exhibition on display at the University’s Medical History Museum at 233 Bouverie St, Carlton from Monday 29 September 2025 to Friday 10 July 2026.

Nice shoes!
Size: 11, Color: Black Full Grain
I bought them in black and I like them so much I will be buying the brown soon. They fit true to size and are comfortable and stylish. I like the clean simplicity. They're basically a dressy sneaker which is perfect for my job's 'dress code'. Yet they're stylish enough to be worn weekends or a night out. They seemed just a touch stiff out of the box but IMO that's completely normal and fine - after just a couple days of wearing them they are breaking in nicely. No complaints on that. They seem to be of very high quality and I'm very happy with them.
