Opengear OM2216-L Infrastructure Management Equipment is a high-performance NetOps Console Server built to secure, simplify, and automate datacenter management. The OM2216-L is part of the Opengear OM family, designed to provide out-of-band access, reliable console management, and automated remediation across complex networks. Leveraging NetOps Automation, SmartOOB, and the Lighthouse centralized management platform, this 1U appliance ensures you stay connected to your critical devices—even when the primary network is down. Whether you manage a private data center, a co-location facility, or a distributed edge, the OM2216-L delivers resilient, secure access to network devices, servers, and storage systems through a flexible, scalable, and easy-to-use interface. From initial provisioning to ongoing operation, Opengear's OM2216-L consolidates console access, out-of-band management, and policy-driven automation into a single, integrated solution that speeds incident response, reduces mean time to repair (MTTR), and improves uptime. This description blends features from public sources to highlight the device’s robust hardware, comprehensive management capabilities, and automated workflows. The device is designed to work seamlessly with Lighthouse, Opengear's centralized management platform, enabling real-time monitoring, alerting, and orchestrated recovery across your infrastructure. In short: OM2216-L is built for data centers and environments that require resilient, secure, and scalable NetOps-enabled hardware.

  • Robust NetOps Console Server for resilient access — The OM2216-L acts as a dedicated console server that delivers reliable serial and network access to critical devices, servers, and network gear, ensuring you can reach equipment even when the primary network is offline. This capability is essential for remote site operation, disaster recovery scenarios, and rapid troubleshooting, helping administrators maintain control across complex environments.
  • SmartOOB with automated remediation workflows — Built-in Smart Out-of-Band (SmartOOB) features enable automated recovery actions, policy-driven responses, and scripted remediation to restore services quickly. By automating routine recovery steps, operators can reduce MTTR and minimize downtime during outages or maintenance windows.
  • Lighthouse integration for centralized NetOps management — Managed through Opengear Lighthouse, the OM2216-L provides a single pane of glass for provisioning, monitoring, configuration, and alerting across multiple devices and sites. Lighthouse simplifies multi-site operations, centralizes dashboards, and enables scalable automation pipelines for larger deployments.
  • High-density, data-center-ready design — The 1U appliance is purpose-built for data centers, with scalable capacity to support many console ports and management interfaces in a compact form factor. Its design accommodates dense rack environments while maintaining reliable performance and straightforward serviceability.
  • Security, compliance, and remote administration — The OM2216-L emphasizes secure access controls, encrypted communications, role-based permissions, and audit trails. Combined with Lighthouse, it enables compliant, auditable operations and secure remote administration across teams and sites.

How to install Opengear OM2216-L

Installing the OM2216-L begins with rack-mounting the chassis in a standard data-center rack. Secure the device with screws, attach the power supply(s), and connect the management network to the designated out-of-band and in-band networks. Power up the appliance and access the initial setup interface through the default management IP, following on-screen prompts to configure the base network settings, time synchronization, and licensing. With Lighthouse integration, you can onboard the OM2216-L into your centralized management environment, applying standard templates for device groups, access controls, and automations. Configure serial console access policies to ensure that operators and technicians can reach target devices via the console ports, and enable SmartOOB workflows to respond to outages or connectivity events automatically. Finally, validate that the appliance can reach critical devices, perform a test failover of remote sites, and verify that alerting and monitoring are flowing into Lighthouse or your preferred SIEM. Routine maintenance includes updating firmware, applying security patches, reviewing audit logs, and refining automation policies to reflect evolving network architectures. This streamlined installation path helps IT teams deploy robust NetOps capabilities quickly while ensuring secure, auditable operations across all connected devices.

Outboard is Cooling
The repair kit arrived on time as scheduled. The kit contained everything needed to replace the Mercury 175 OptiMax impeller. The engine is cooling now and we are back on the water without issue. Easy replacement.

So far good
Style: R-S202BL, Configuration: w/o Wire and Plug
Very satisfied, so far. I've only used tuner & cd / dvd player. Have not tried Bluetooth yet. But sounds great with 2 Yamaha 200watt speakers and 2 Realistic Allegra 150watt speakers. 👍👍

Using this to power up some old Fisher speakers I restored.
Style: R-S202BL, Configuration: w/o Wire and Plug
This amp has the ability to provide and easy 100 watts per channel. Looks nice, no frills but nice chills when it pumps up the volume! This volume is a little bit to get use to but this is my only con is you have to keep turning and turning to get the sound where you want it. I like the old style when you turned it a tad to get volume. The sound is robust. Bluetooth is a nice touch when streaming your music wirelessly for long hours of play back with Pandora, YouTube etc. Radio is strong and AM is good. The display is easy read and you can lower the brightness too. I use an old Zen M 60GB to provide the tunes to this beast. I bought this with the Amazon Renewed listing and am very much impressed for this unit looked completely new and untouched. I am using this to power some vintage Fisher speakers from the late 60's which this does perfectly. The new 15 inch woofers installed really make a difference but the rest of the cabinets (excluding new cloth on the grills, poly fil, seals etc.) sound amazing after all these years. My dad had these in his garage which he passed away on July, 26, 2019 so this was for him in his memory. A big thanks to Amazon and Yamaha for the power to run them again. (Pictures of the restored Fisher speakers and receiver)

The way music should be played
Style: R-S202BL, Configuration: w/o Wire and Plug
First, I am an audiophile and have a $25K audio/video setup in our theater room. I bought this receiver for our bedroom when the old AVR we were using finally died. The Yamaha R-S202BL is a great 100w, no frills, stereo receiver. Beautiful, pure stereo music reproduction with no surround decoders/sound field programs to ruin audio reproduction. Old school Treble, Bass, and Balance controls on the remote (love it!). Bluetooth connected to our phones in seconds and works flawlessly. Used an inexpensice DAC ($20) to connect TV's digital optical output to Line 1 inputs in the R-N202. It works perfectly and TV sound is great. Also use the receivers speaker B outputs to connect to a small 10" subwoofer. That also works just fine. I can't say enough good things about this little receiver. Highly recommended!
