The Shires Greedy Feeder Net is a versatile slow-feed net designed to reduce waste, extend grazing time and encourage healthy chewing behaviour. It's available in three sizes30″ (~76 cm), 39″ (~99 cm) and 47″ (~119 cm) — to suit different horse sizes, feeding regimes and stable/field layouts.

✅ Key Benefits

  • Multiple size options — pick the size that fits your horse/pony, turnout setup or hay-rationing requirements.

  • Promotes slower eating — slows down intake, increases chewing time and helps support digestive health and stable behaviour.

  • Reduces waste — holds hay or haylage securely, preventing excess spillage and drop-out.

  • Durable construction — built to withstand regular use, ideal for stable or field feeding when hung safely.

  • Flexible feeding solution — works for both single horse turnout or group feeding, depending on size and system.

📊 Specifications

Size Approx Diameter / Height
30″ ~ 30″ / 76 cm
39″ ~ 39″ / 99 cm
47″ ~ 47″ / 119 cm
  • Material: Heavy-duty feed netting suitable for hay or haylage (check suitability if using haylage).

  • Use Case: Slow-feed hay or haylage — stable or turnout use when hung securely and safely.

  • Compatibility: Suitable for horses, ponies, or multiple-horse feeding depending on net size and layout.

🪣 Usage & Care Guide

  • Hang the net at a safe height for your horse/pony so they can reach hay comfortably without risk of entanglement.

  • Choose net size based on horse size, forage allowance and turnout setup.

  • Fill with hay (or haylage if netting is rated for such) — avoid over-filling to prevent over-loading the net.

  • Check regularly for wear, fraying or stretched holes — replace net if compromised to maintain safety.

  • Clean after use if feeding outdoors or hay/field dust buildup — shake out old hay, rinse if needed and allow to dry before reuse.

  • Store in a dry, shaded place when not in use to prolong net life and maintain durability.

Airedale tough!
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
We have two young Airedale Terriers and I thought this would be a good inside toy for them to tug. And I was right! Very happily so. I have to admit I was surprised when I first saw it; it seemed so small. But the thing stretches and springs back to shape. We’ve had it about 2 weeks now and it is constantly played with. Absolutely the best toy! Very interactive either alone (it rolls) or with us or they play together. I am surprised how tough it is with all the constant rough play. Highly recommend!!!

Small, but twisty and fun looking. Seems relatively sturdy, though doesn't look indestructible at all.
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
SLIGHTLY disappointed because I thought this was bigger than it is. If you squish it all in close, it's maybe one and a half times the size of a tennis ball. (Of course, the size is probably listed; I think I just assumed, so my fault.) That being said, it's entertainingly twisty and squishy, though the rubber seems relatively sturdy. I'm not yet positive if it will hold up to the 8 month retriever/lab mix it's intended for; he tends to rip instantly through anything much less sturdy than kong natural rubber. But it seems like something that will amuse him, so we're going to give it a shot at Christmas.

Great product!
Color: Rubber Chew Toy, Size: Large
My dog is an aggressive chewer. I have bought this 3 times for her she loves to play tug and fetch with it. They last longer than most of the other toys I get her and it’s one of her favorites.
