James Halliday-92 Points Extended skin contact; matured on lees at least 40 months; 8.5g/L dosage. Méthode traditionally. Disgorged Jan '21. Medium salmon/copper hue. 100% pinot noir is an exciting new twist for a house built resolutely on chardonnay. The affable mood of this variety delivers fresh, defined pomegranate and red cherry fruit, contrasting with the cool tension of Piper's River in strawberry hull and pink grapefruit. Fine phenolic/tannin bite brings firmness to the finish, which the toasty depth and creamy complexity of lees age go some way toward softening and calming.
