Our occasional series of anthologies of rare and desirable Group Soul gems kicks off 2016 with a fourth volume of "Soul Harmony" that's sure to be welcomed by all collectors of the genre. As ever, our musical tour of the US takes us to all parts of the country and features tracks that span the mid-60s to mid-70s - the golden era of this type of material. Our featured artists offer a balance of the familiar and the obscure, but all with recordings of the highest quality. There are a few R&B chart hits here but the focus is on quality rather than on rarity. 22 tracks are completely new to Ace or Kent CDs, while nine of those 22 - including rare Stax demos from the Del Rios and the Mad Lads - have never been issued before. The demand for Group Soul compilations continues to grow as appreciation of this great sub-genre of black American music expands. Anyone who has purchased any of our earlier volumes could not fail to be impressed with what is on offer here.

Daughter loved her gift…
Color: White, Size: Travel/Throw Size - 50" x 60"
The throw came in a box; it was very heavy. I did not open the box. I wrapped it instead. It was fluffy, and beautiful! My daughter loved it, it was one of the gifts she really wanted for Christmas. It is a great throw for a couch, and I’ve been told it’s warm, comfortable, and nicely made. The value for the price was also excellent. It’s beautiful; anyone would be happy to showcase this in their living room, and of course it’s highly functional - daughter says that it is so snuggly, warm, and the size is perfect!

Lovely Throw, But Falls Short of Luxurious
I really like this two-sided throw, with its plush fur-like material on one side and silky velveteen on the other. The texture is warm and silky, and the color complements my sofa beautifully. However, while it’s a nice blanket, it doesn’t quite measure up to the same size throw I bought a month ago from a local German “here today, gone tomorrow” store. That European snuggle bundle, priced at a single Benjamin, has my entire family stealing it from one another.
This throw could benefit from being a bit heavier, with a loftier fur side and thicker velvet to feel more luxurious—especially at twice the cost of the blanket we all love. ( black Friday/cyber Monday dropped it eight dollars) Without any discounts, the price feels inflated for what it is. It’s still a lovely addition to my home, but it falls short of five stars even at the discount price on the day of this review.
