　　一九八五年，龍應台出版《野火集》，以野火燎原之姿，燃動整個社會，創下二十一天內重印二十四次，四個月賣出十萬本的空前記錄。緊接著，台灣在一九八七年解嚴，一九八八年開放報禁，社會運動如春草茁生，政治鬆開了緊緊扼住喉管的手，迎來全民發聲的時代。

龍應台

　　高雄大寮的自來水廠裡出生，南部的漁村農村長大。留學美國九年，旅居歐洲十三年，生活在香港九年；台北市首任文化局長、中華民國首任文化部長。是一支獨立的筆——在壓抑靜默的時代，她高舉野火；在眾聲喧譁的時代，她寧守沉靜。

　　二〇一四年十二月一日辭官，回到「文人安靜的書桌」。
