Maestrini water intake scoop strainer made from brass, with a full slotted grating and bop thread. This 402427 intake scoop is designed for raw water intake systems, such as those used in static intakes like toilets and gensets. It fits through the hull with the grating on the outside and the male 1.5" bop threaded pipe leading inside, usually to a valve to open and close the intake. The scoop grating can be secured to the hull using a marine sealant and is also fixed with a back locking nut and washer. Important note: All fittings used for through hull applications must be correctly electrically bonded to ensure protection from electrolytic corrosion. Brass is susceptible to dezincification and may not last as long as other materials in below waterline through hull applications.Shipping Notes

Measure what you buy.

I love the product made my job easy on this last pontoon I worked on but the pontoons only 20 ft long and I only pulled wires halfway and I got less than 10 ft left there was not 50 ft on that spool. But now that I've cut it used it and are using it a little hard to complain, but the use of the application for the wire is 100%, thank you very much for the product.

Great value, but not overly flexible.

I used this wire to run power from my car's battery to a ham radio in my trunk, and an inverter under my driver seat. This wire fit the bill perfectly. It is water, oil resistant, and tinned (to resist corrosion). One challenge I ran into was its stiffness. Despite having many fine strands, the wire doesn't flex well. You can bend it, but wants to spring back and doesn't hold its shape. This made running the wire under the hood through the firewall, and along the door moulding... a LOT of work. I scraped a lot of knuckle in the process. Overall, I'd still recommend using it for automotive projects. It is a high quality wire. Just know that it's hard to manipulate though a lot of twists and turns.
