Power and performance converge in the Black Box 10/100/1000B-T PoE PSE To 1000B-X Media Converter. This compact, rugged device bridges fiber and copper networks while delivering IEEE 802.3af PoE to powered devices on the copper side, making it an ideal solution for deploying IP cameras, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and other powered devices across challenging distances. With auto-negotiation, auto MDI-X, and clear LED indicators, it simplifies network expansion without sacrificing reliability or energy efficiency. Built to RoHS standards, it blends robust construction with plug-and-play convenience, enabling quick deployments in data centers, edge offices, or remote locations.

  • Copper port auto negotiates 10/100/1000 Mbps with Auto MDI-X. The copper RJ-45 interface automatically detects the connected device’s speed and configuration, eliminating the need for manual settings or crossover cables. This streamlines cross-network integration and ensures optimal performance with switches, IP cameras, access points, and other PoE-enabled gear.
  • Gigabit fiber uplink with 1000BASE-X support. Connect a fiber backbone or distant data center link to a copper segment running at 10/100/1000 Mbps. The converter preserves full-duplex, high-bandwidth operation, enabling seamless, scalable networking as your environment grows from a single site to a distributed deployment with multiple locations.
  • IEEE 802.3af PoE PSE capability on the copper port. The unit can source PoE power to powered devices on the copper side, simplifying network design by reducing the need for separate power injectors or outlets at each endpoint. This is ideal for cameras, phones, and other PoE devices positioned away from power sources.
  • Intuitive status LEDs for quick diagnostics. LEDs indicate PoE activity and power interruption, helping technicians swiftly identify whether power is being delivered and whether the link is up. This visibility reduces maintenance time and supports proactive network management.
  • RoHS compliant with a durable, compact enclosure. Designed to withstand day-to-day deployment in server rooms, equipment closets, or edge environments, the converter adheres to RoHS standards for safer, low-to-no-hazard operation while occupying minimal rack or desktop footprint.

Technical Details of Black Box 10/100/1000B-T PoE PSE To 1000B-X Media Converter

  • Interface configuration: 1 x copper RJ-45 port supporting 10/100/1000 Mbps with PoE PSE, and 1 x 1000BASE-X fiber uplink (exact fiber connector type not specified in available specifications).
  • PoE support: IEEE 802.3af PoE on the copper port to power compliant devices over Ethernet. This enables remote devices to receive power directly from the network connection.
  • Indicators: Integrated LEDs provide at-a-glance status for link activity, PoE presence, and power interruption, facilitating rapid health checks and fault isolation.
  • Compliance: RoHS compliant, reflecting attention to environmental impact and safety standards across compatible components and construction.
  • Construction: Compact, durable enclosure designed for reliable operation in a variety of network environments and deployment scenarios.

how to install Black Box 10/100/1000B-T PoE PSE To 1000B-X Media Converter

To ensure a smooth, trouble-free installation and optimal performance, follow these straightforward steps. The process is designed to be plug-and-play, with no software required in most standard deployments.

  • Prepare the hardware. Unpack the media converter and verify the included power supply (or ensure an appropriate external power source is available). Inspect connectors for any dust or debris and keep cables tidy to prevent accidental disconnections.
  • Connect the fiber uplink. Attach your 1000BASE-X fiber optic cable to the fiber port on the converter. Ensure the fiber is clean and properly aligned with the connector type used in your environment, as improper seating can affect link reliability.
  • Connect the copper network. Plug a standard Ethernet copper cable into the 10/100/1000 Mbps copper port and connect the other end to your switch, router, or PoE-enabled device that will receive PoE power from the converter. If you are powering PoE devices, connect them to the copper port’s endpoint devices as required.
  • Power up and configure (if needed). Connect the power supply to the media converter and plug it into a live outlet. In most deployments, the device operates without special configuration. If your network requires specific speed negotiation or VLAN settings, configure those on connected devices, as the converter itself operates passively regarding higher-layer features.
  • Verify operation. Check the LEDs for link status, PoE activity, and power indicators. Confirm that the PoE-powered devices are functioning correctly and that traffic is flowing between the fiber uplink and copper segment. Perform a basic connectivity test to validate throughput and reliability across the link.

Frequently asked questions

Keeps her busy!
Color: Medium size (5.9")
Our Molly loves this. Only thing is that it is a little too big for our Maltipoo, but she still tries to keep up with it.

This is a great ball for high energy dogs.
Color: Blue
I have a Belgian Malinois, so you can imagine the Maligator jaws. Just opened this today and let her play with it indoors. She LOVES IT. It wore her out and it’s a toy she can really stay focused on without needing me to throw or roll for her. It moves on its own! I supervised her play. I was hoping it was too big to get under the couch, but no. It goes right under it. I had to block off the gap so I didn’t have to keep getting it out from under for her. The outter “shell” is very durable! When she had resting moments, she chewed it pretty good - I could hear the material squeaking against her teeth. I was worried she was tearing it up, but nope! Not a mark on it. It’s easy to set up and operate. It needed charging before play. After hours of play, she was able to somehow unscrew the outter shell. This concerned me bc the smaller, inner ball mechanism came out but I saw it right away and was able to put it back together. So, make sure it’s screwed together tightly (which I thought I had done without breaking it) and check it from time to time to make sure it hasn’t loosened. This is a great ball for her incredible high energy drive. It gives her the work and fun play she needs to get tired, which I love. This toy is on the expensive end, but so far it’s worth it. Now we’ll see how long it lasts!
